41. Yes, let's do it! Here's a Buddhist "lovingkindess/healing" meditation

as it was given to me by a friend who is a psychotherapist. She gives it to her patients. Sometimes it's easier to visualize sending loving, healing energy when it is given a form like this. Here's her version (which is pretty standard, though there are many variations and in Buddhist practice, people are encouraged to choose their own wording) and the instructions she gives with it:

"May I be filled with loving-kindness.
May I be well.
May I be peaceful and at ease.
May I be happy.
(15-20 min twice daily, visualizing being held in a heart of loving-kindness.)"

(In regular Buddhist practice, this meditation is a practice ("Metta," usually translated as "lovingkindess") that would gradually be expanded over many weeks to later include first family and beloved friends, then people you know less well but like, then strangers you see but do not know, then "difficult" people, then enemies, then further by degrees until all living beings are encompassed.)

Customizing for sending this healing energy to Andy:

May Andy be filled with healing loving-kindness.
May he be well and free of pain.
May he be peaceful and at ease.
May he be happy.
(While visualizing him held in a heart of lovingkindness)

I truly do...Yesterday was a really bad day...I was absolutely lifeless. I was lower than a sows belly in a wagon rut. This thread...makes me feel like I am gonna beat this thing.

I just wish I had the same energy level I used to have. I went last night to see some of my friends. I was literally only able to stay about a half hour. It sucked not being able to stay longer...but my body would just not let me.

I am sick of being sick!!
