Socialist Society:
The top 50 percent of wage earners pay 96.09 percent of income taxes. I think they deserve a break. The bottom 50 percent is only paying a tiny bit of taxes, so you can't give them much of a tax cut. It would be nice if people realized that all those evil, hate, rich folks are the entrepeneurs that start companies and create jobs for everyone. The government shouldn't have to balance out everyone's income and provide for those who will not provide for themselves. If you want a socialist society, move to Cuba.
Some ideas for my LTTE:
1) The poor & middle class pay the lion's share of the payroll tax, as the rich do not have to pay it on income over $90,000.
2) The overall tax burden falls squarely on the middle class thanks to the Bush tax cuts. Prior to the Bush cuts, the rich paid the most taxes. Now it is the middle class.
3) Small business, not evil rich folks, create most of the jobs in this country.
4) The evil rich folks also make the most use of the American infrastructure.
5) The greatest job creation period in modern American history came right after Bill Clinton raised the income tax rate on the wealthiest and cut taxes on the middle class. Coincidence? I think not.
