Yep, it's time for another Zogby survey. As always, there were a few questions that inspired a "wh-WHAT??", and a few others that were pretty funny. Here's my picks from this week's selection:
You have just been hired to cast the new movie, "2004, The Election". Who would you cast as:
40. George W. Bush? (John Kerry was given the same selection of actors)
Alec Baldwin Warren Beatty Pierce Brosnan Nic Cage Tom Cruise George Clooney Richard Dreyfus Will Ferrell Harrison Ford Mel Gibson Tom Hanks Dustin Hoffman Kevin Kline Steve Martin Gerald McRaney Bill Murray Al Pacino Sean Penn Tim Robbins Tom Selleck Ron Silver Kevin Spacey Ben Stein Bruce Willis James Woods Other
As Laura Bush /As Theresa Heinz Kerry
Kim Bassinger Annette Benning Delta Burke Glenn Close Jamie Lee Curtis Geena Davis Sally Field Jodie Foster Holly Hunter Diane Keaton Jessica Lange Michelle Pfeiffer Gena Rowlands Rene Russo Susan Sarandon Meryl Streep Sharon Stone Sela Ward Sigourney Weaver Other Not sure Refused
If you were leaving town and needed a babysitter for the weekend which celebrity would you trust with the job?
Jennifer Anniston Drew Barrymore Angela Bassett Halle Berry Sean Combs Courtney Cox Tom Cruise Matt Damon Will Ferrell Whoopi Goldberg Andy Garcia Goldie Hawn Kate Hudson James Earl Jones Jennifer Lopez Madonna Debra Messing Eddie Murphey Brad Pitt Julia Roberts Adam Sandler Will Smith Britney Spears Ben Stiller Justin Timberlake Denzel Washington Elijah Wood Other Not sure Refused
45. You are caught in the pouring rain, you have a flat tire, and a dog the size of a small horse is standing by the side of the road barking. Suddenly a limousine approaches and out steps a celebrity who puts a leash on the dog, and hands it to their assistant, rolls up their sleeves him or herself and helps you change the tire. The name of this celebrity is…
Alec Baldwin Drew Barrymore Angela Bassett Halle Berry Sean Combs Bill Cosby Tom Cruise Jamie Lee Curtis Vin Diesel Lawrence Fishburn Harrison Ford Morgan Freeman Mel Gibson Whoopi Goldberg Tom Hanks Queen Latifah Susan Sarandon Arnold Schwarzenegger Will Smith Jimmy Smits Sharon Stone Hillary Swank Denzel Washington Lynn Whitfield Sigourney Weaver Other Not sure Refused
And my pick for most questionable Zogby question of the week:
Which of the following do you think is the priority for this Administration and Congress to deal with? (Choose ONE)
Making tax cuts permanent Creating jobs Reforming Social Security Winning the war on terrorism Winning the war in Iraq Stopping nuclear proliferation Speading Democracy around the world Cutting the budget deficit Cutting spending on social programs Spreading No Child Left Behind to high schools Overturning Roe v. Wade Cleaning up the television and radio Other Not sure/none Refused
I would say "creating jobs" , but BushCo seems to see starting wars abroad as "job creation"."Stopping nuclear proliferation" sounds great, but BushCo thinks that the way to do that is to bomb somebody into dust, or simply ignore them (N. Korea)."Cutting the budget deficit" would be terrific, if BushCo didn't intend to do that by destoying all our social and environmental programs.
Man, we're screwed.
