I don't watch this show, but I do watch Alias so I just saw the blurb. That was enough to really burn my ass, so I have no intention of watching it. Apparently it's the "military wife" vs the "peace wife" tonight. Man, this burns my ass!! I was in the Army. I was an Army wife. I'm a Guard wife now. To go forth with this idea that military families are pro war and pro Bush and pro repuke just completely pisses me off! Almost everyone I know in the military is a Dem! And I live in Ala-freaking-Bama!! THIS is why I don't watch the networks (ok, ok, I watch Alias and Lost). People, don't believe this bs. For every military family they find who is pro war/pro Bush I can find one who isn't.

2. It's called "stereotyping to make ratings"

I do watch WifeSwap (only because I'm in Nursing School and like mindless entertainment when winding down at the end of the day).

Every military family is pro-bush to the EXTREME. Guns everywhere, but they're totally portrayed as the "typical american family" with real values, normal kids, happy life, down-to-earth, etc

Every "peaceful" family is from California, freaky in some way, dirty, misbehaved children, vegetarians, militants, wackos.

But then again, on most shows, if you see a black person or black family, they're generally stereotyped as being 'uppity' and 'all about race' and whatever other racist code-words they can find...you know...like "militant" or whatever

Every fat person is jolly and happy and the butt of all the jokes and LOVES it

Every person with glasses is a total square, nerdy bookworm with no friends and no social life.

Blondes=dumb, ditzy

Men=sport-head, macho, violent, etc

It's been happening for a LONG time.....

3. I find the whole concept of Wife Swap disgusting

although I confess that I have watched it. Once. But when I saw what was going to be on tonight I almost puked. What a total bunch of crap. The thing that got me about it was this implication that the only people against the war are pacifists. I'm reading too much into it, but it pissed me off nonetheless.

But this show is clearly a put-on. It isn't "reality" TV.

5. Not only that they seem to try to make the Conservatives look better BUT

it always ends up the conservatives narrow-mindedness pops through and they seem not to want to learn from the other family that much.

my husband was working on a business's computer and the woman running the place started mouthing politics. she said she doesnt keep mouth shut. hubby said my wife either, i kinda cringe, but she just puts out blunt and straight

this woman started raggin on bush and said there are a lot more closeted democrats than you know.

told husband, wow, i havent met one, in the wrong club.

in areas like military, upper income, south and texas we have lost our voice. time to gather

what is it we have to lose. told father gonna get involved in dems and black commissioner running. he stuttered a tad and said think twice, i mean your husbands business. shame on these people. shame on all these people to suggest their party are such assholes i am not allowed to participate in the system without loss of income. shame on them all
