Did Bush support the losing side in the teenage death penality case?
If so, he lost.

1. I'm nervous that it was only a 5-4 vote, but at least --
-- for the time being we will not be frying 15-year olds.

While I'm to the left of many Democratic presidential candidates over the years, it's days like this one (5-4 in the Supreme Court) that I remember why the game has to be played in certain ways. Bush, or whoever's pushing his buttons, no doubt will try to send up as many right-wing cretins for Supreme Court replacements, and if the papers are right about Rehnquist, it will be sooner rather than later.

Let's get that filibusterin' revved up and ready.

3. But really if the Cheif steps down, who cares? [not that I wish him dead]

4. If Rehnquist dies or steps down, I won't miss him.
What I meant was that Bush is likely to send up a far-right Himmleresque replacement and that would impact votes like today's 5-4 vote.

5. No, I did a web search and didn't find any evidence
the Bush Admin. took a position in this case involving the states.

Also, Bush said in 2004 he doesn't want to change federal law for juvenile executions.

7. How can you take anyting he says as the truth? Whatever he says
today or yesterday may not be what he says tomorrow.

6. In his heart I am convinced that Doofus took a stand; after all this
is going to save around 70 lives currently on death row, 27 in Texas. Divide that out 50 into 70. Texas has their fair share in spades.
