16. & George Bush Liberated Lebannon!
Just kidding. I heard that that rumour about Bush freeing Lebanon is going around freeperville.

Of course Canadians were not a country in 1814 or whenever the White House Burnt. But our farmers did make up parts of the Red Coats. But I do not see references all over the place to the fact that only a few East Coast Port Blue States and about 3 Red Ones were there for the creation of your country.

Ahh we humans and our creation myths!!

Now here is something that is true: Joseph Brant and nailed your Yankee asses in the War of 1812:headbang: and yes - he did have a mohawk of sorts (or the artist doing the painting embellished quite a bit as was known to happen with historical art at the time).

17. You know what REALLY SUCKS, The Canadians know more...
...about the War of 1812 than I ever learned in school. I guess the schools in Indiana figured, that War wasn't worth covering.

22. You lost. I think there is some myth-making that does go on in USA
schools. But that is always the case in history. Up to academia to punch through.

21. By your reasoning Mexico is responsible for the siege of Fallujah
Because some citizens of that country (so-called "Green Card Soldiers") are fighting in the US Army under the command of US officers.

I'm not sure what leads you to make the statement about not seeing references all over the place to the few states at our founding. It's general knowledge here that the country started out with 13 former colonies (though admittedly probably the majority of people you asked couldn't identify them, or at least not all of them).

Here's something else that is true: we just about knocked you off the map in 1775-76! It is a little-known fact (here, at least) that America carried the Revolution into Canada, captured and occupied Montreal, and probably would have taken Quebec if the army had been better supported. Alas, it was not to be, and Benedict Arnold went on to bigger and better things.

But this is just good natured kidding on my part. I love my country, but I have to admit that sometimes I find it easier to feel a lot more respect and admiration for Canada than for my own.

23. The sad thing is that if you read the books 'back in the day' the people
jumped around with joy at every war because it meant that they & their families would be fed for a bit. They couldn't wait for the next war to start (if you were poor there was no other way to middle class lifestyle.. all the roads to advancement were closed). I hope we do not go back there - to the day when people need another war to stave off hunger.

I just keep the picture of the Night Watchman in my mind since the neocons want that economy back sooo much!: "Two O'clock & all is well!" as fifty kids try & sleep with hungry bellies within hearing distance.

24. Hey, they just brought back the Buffalo Nickel (sort of), it may be...
...too late already.

They are calling it a Bison and keeping Thomas Jefferson, though, and he did get a makeover.
