A Handout for the Yellow Ribbon Suppport The Troops REPUKES!

Veterans account for nearly one-third of all homeless men.

Snip...

Veterans account for nearly one-third of all homeless men in America, even though the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (news - web sites) says they comprise only 13 percent of adult males in the general population. In West Virginia, where Marsh now struggles to rebuild his life, one in nine people is a veteran — the highest per capita rate in the nation in the 2000 census.

Marsh, 48 and single, has a job at a nursing home but earns too little for a place of his own. For months, he's lived at Scott Place, a shelter overlooking a town of about 20,000 — the town where he spent several years of his childhood and the closest thing to home.

Marsh doesn't mind the lack of privacy in the men's quarters, a third-floor maze connected by doorless doorways, or sharing a 14-by-14 space. "In the Navy, we'd have nine to 12 people in a room this big," he says.

And his bathroom has both a shower and tub. "The other guys just have showers," he says.

3. Support the Crippled, Blinded, Burnt, Blasted, Shattered, Troops
support them with their new artificial legs, and their new disfigured faces and their new mental scars that can't be seen, and be sure to support their wives and kids, struggling to deal with suddenly having a wheelchair bound or maddened former breadwinner at home.

support the unemployed troops, the broken and homeless troops, who went to a war that wasn't necessary, against a nation that never attacked us, who sacrificed for lies and war profiteers and assholes.

7. I am one of those. Only it was called Viet Namn
when we are in control of our destinies this time we must not let our guard down. We became so complacent we didn't see this shit storm coming. It was so nice to have relative peace for 20 plus years.

4. SO much easier to slap a yellow magnet on your car
than to DO something that would actually help a veteran. Support is shown through meaningless slogans and not criticizing a president who did everything in his power to avoid becoming a combat veteran.

13. Freedom isn't free but DON'T ask them to make a personal sacrifice!
Yes, pay for freedom w/ someone else's blood, someone else's sacrifice, someone else's vigilance.

It kills me that these types of yahoos don't even know what makes a country free:

- A Free press
- Free and fair elections
- Freedom of Choice (and I don't mean 52 kinds of breakfast cereal), of Assembly, from Want...

Arrrghh - what's the point. Freedom to them means cheap gas and world domination.

9. Can we put together a whole list of why Bush doesn't support our troops?
It would be great to have a whole brochure that fits on one or two sides of an 8x5 sheet of paper.

a semi truck covered with 1,499 yellow ribbon magnets, with the name and birthdate of every dead soldier written on them.
