AM reception is so spotty where I live.

It does indeed pick up stuff from quite a ways away, and AM is always strong.

Excellent quality. I use it to broadcast iTunes music and internet radio from my computer to my stereos and radios around my house.

The AM reception is good. After about 2 years my digital display went waco. I sent it back and they fixed it for about $50 and it went out again in about a year. My next door neighbor also had the same problem with his. I bought an Optimus radio at Radio Shack for about $40 and it has just as good reception and it has the old analog dial and no clock to break.
