We the People

I would like to suggest a marketing campaign that all of our party's candidates should embrace and make a central pillar in any campaign:

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Ponder on this for a moment and consider just how diametrically opposed to these ideas the Republican platform is.

A marketing/election campaign that adopted and hammered these words home (maybe set background music as the Old "school House Rock" version)might start to get people to see that in fact we are all in the same boat and that as a nation we have a shared responsibity to each other.

I'm not the best at putting my thoughts into words, but I know I'm onto something here, maybe somebody could help me out and take it from here.

In a manner of speaking.

We need to hammer this most basic idea that the founders set forth for or nation. By reclaiming it and creating a direct line between it and and policy AND by demonstrating how the Repukes betray this we can pry away the mantle of patriotism and stewardship of the founders wishes that the Right has so succesfully fought to achieve.

Domestic tranquility? Does Limbaugh and co. promote domestic tranquility?

General welfare? No way. The right is all about INDIVIDUAL enrichment AT THE EXPENSE of the general welfare.

3. Instead on wasting our time
with Guckert/gannon/whore we should be laying the foundation of the ideas that will speak to the People.

4. Oh well.
I guess people are too obsessed with a scandal that will get us nowhere than discussing anything that would help us bridge the widening gap between us and the people.

THe Republicans on the other hand have succesfully convinced over half the country that we are traitors who hate the country.

We just sit around and gossip and let them get away with it.
