Sibel's Way
Posted to my blog here. Links live at the site.

Here's an interesting thought, from Michael A Hoffman II in Secret Societies and Psychological Warfare, on what he calls the "revelation of method" by the "cryptocracy":

This is what simplistic researchers miss: the function of macabre arrogance thumbing its nose at us while we do nothing except spread the tale of their immunity and invincibility further. That is the game plan operant here.

To the belief system of the modern man it sounds too crazy. Why would the perpetrators want their secrets revealed after the fact? ... This question can only be definitely answered if one has an understanding of the zeitgeist which overseers in the cryptocracy have partly manufactured and partly tailored their own operations to coincide with. As I've pointed out, secrets like this were rarely revealed in the past because traditional people had not yet completed the alchemical processing (of mind control). To make such perverse, modern revelations to an unprocessed, healthy and vigorous population possessed of will, memory adherence to their deepest inner intuition and intense interest in their salvation, would not have been a good thing for the cryptocracy. It would have proven fatal to them.

But to reveal these after-the-fact secrets in our modern time, to a people who have no memory, no willpower and no interest in their own fate except in so far as it may serve as momentary titillation and entertainment actually strengthens the enslavement of such a people.

See what Hoffman is saying here? The Power Control Group (Richard E Sprague's evocative term from The Taking of America, 1-2-3) occasionally chooses to tip its hand to us as a mechanism of control. In nature it would be a threat display, except the threat implied here is the confirmation that things are really as bad as we think, and we can't do a damn thing about it.

I'm thinking, for instance, of the casual bombshell that dropped a year after 9/11, that on the morning of the attacks the National Reconnaissance Office was running a simulation of a plane crashing into a government building. A "bizarre coincidence," it was called. Though I believe the "simulation" likely a cover story, it's not exactly a limited hang out, since they hung it out there all by themselves in an announcement for a Homeland Security conference. ("On the morning of September 11th 2001, Fulton and his team ... were running a pre-planned simulation to explore the emergency response issues that would be created if a plane were to strike a building. Little did they know that the scenario would come true in a dramatic way that day.") Until then, no one was pressing the 9/11 wargames angle. Since, Mike Ruppert and others have discovered about a half-dozen more, suspiciously and opportunely timed to the attacks. Letting slip the "simulation" story is a bit like Jack the Ripper writing Scotland Yard and enclosing a portion of his victim's liver. Catch me if you can!

I'm thinking of the FBI promoting agents who deliberately inhibited pre-911 investigations, and its punishing those who saw it coming and tried to stop it. What message did this send, and could it be anything but the one intended?

I'm thinking of Michael Chertoff's appointment to Homeland Security, though he was accused of sabotaging the Department's "Greenquest" investigations into terror financing. I'm thinking of the appointment of Porter Goss to CIA directorship, though we know he'd met with 9/11 financier ISI Chief Mahmood Ahmed the morning of Sept 11, and his congressional seat encompassed the hijackers' Florida flight schools.

No administration has thumbed its nose more often, nor with as much feeling in our general direction, as this one. Its macabre arrogance contributes to a legend of invulnerability. That the White House can not only get away with it, but appear to revel in it, makes them seem untouchable. And yet, they aren't. And one of the reasons I believe this is Sibel Edmonds.

She can hurt them, and they know it. And they don't want you to know it.

From Saturday's New York Times:

The government has told a federal appeals court that a suit by an F.B.I. translator who was fired after accusing the bureau of ineptitude should not be allowed to proceed because it would cause "significant damage to the national security and foreign policy of the United States."

Given what we already know Edmonds' knows, this is tantamount to an admission of guilt. As much as they might like to gloat in their High Mischief, it would seem some truths are too terrible to be aired just yet.

All this has reminded me of the film Cutter's Way.

It's been a while, but here's the gist: an emotionally crippled double amputee - a Vietnam vet - becomes obsessed with the thought that a local elite has murdered a young girl and dumped her body in the trash. He sets on a quixotic crusade to bring him to justice, dragging along his reluctant friend who'd rather not get involved. The two crash a society party and confront their suspect. In the context of his privileged world they appear crazy, even to themselves, and are treated as objects of pity.

But once the powerful figure is left alone in his study with the two eccentrics, his tone changes: "And what if I did?"

He shouldn't have asked. And Sibel Edmonds may yet cause Dick Cheney to harbour some regrets.

1. Excellent Post.
You are absolutely correct. I wasn't aware of the National Security Defense being made.

You would think they wouldn't be so stupid as to say that a whistleblower could hurt the United States.

Has to make any reasonable person wonder exactly what National Security means to these people.

Of course, most of us here already know.

The 9/11 whistleblowers-get-screwed data dump

Edited on Fri Mar-26-04 02:29 PM by Minstrel Boy
Some who’ve spoken up, and paid the price. I'd say that "incompetence theory" cannot explain what these people faced.

Michael Springman

WHO: Twenty-year State Department veteran, and former head of the visa bureau in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

CLAIM: He was repeatedly overruled by high-level State Department officials to issue visas to bin Laden recruits so they could receive training in the United States. Says this continued at least until the summer of 2001. (Notably, 15 of the 9/11 hijackers first entered the US through Jeddah.) Springman protested.

RESULT: Fired. Springman says he believes that the victims of 9/11 "may have been sacrificed in order to further wider US geopolitical objectives."

Sibel Edmonds

WHO: FBI translator

CLAIM: That a Turkish "spy ring" operated in the translation department with the apparent protection of FBI brass, falsifying intercepts containing explicit, actionable warnings of 9/11. That members of this ring were involved with the subjects of the intercepts. And that high-ranking officials asked her to falsify her translations and bribed her to keep quiet.

RESULT: Fired. After taking concerns to upper management, was dismissed with only one reason offered: "for the convenience of the government." Escorted from building by agents who said "We will be watching you and listening to you. If you dare to consult an attorney who is not approved by the FBI, or if you take this issue outside the FBI to the Senate, the next time I see you, it will be in jail." Told by John Ashcroft that he was invoking "State Secret Privilege and National Security" to keep what she knows from reaching the public.

http://tomflocco.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article...

Robert Wright

WHO: FBI special investigator

CLAIM: That FBI agents assigned to intelligence operations actually protect terrorists from investigation and prosecution. That the FBI shut down his probe into terrorist training camps, and he was removed from a money-laundering case that had a direct link to terrorism. Says the FBI "intentionally and repeatedly thwarted his attempts to launch a more comprehensive investigation to identify and neutralize terrorists."

RESULT: Suspended and ordered to remain silent. Subject of at least three internal FBI investigations. Has written a book that the FBI is not only refusing to allow publication, but is not permitting anyone to even see it.

http://www.laweekly.com/ink/02/37/news-crogan.php

Lt. Col. Steve Butler

WHO: Vice Chancellor for student affairs, Defense Language Institute in Monterey.

CLAIM: In a letter to the editor of a local paper, Butler wrote "Bush knew of the impending attacks on America. He did nothing to warn the American people because he needed this war on terrorism. What is...contemptible is the President of the United States not telling the American people what he knows for political gain." During Butler’s term as chancellor, 9/11 hijacker Saeed Alghamdi was enrolled at the Defense Language Institute.

RESULT: Disciplined, lost his position and threatened with court martial.

Indira Singh

WHO: "Risk architect" consultant to JP Morgan Chase.

CLAIM: That Ptech, a software company founded by a Saudi financier on the terrorist watch list, had troubling access to sensitive US institutions, which was apparently of no concern to the institutions involved or the FBI. For instance, a "person of interest" from Ptech “had a team in the basement of the FAA for two years” before 9/11. One of Ptech’s projects gained it access to "all information processes and issues that the FAA had with the National Airspace Systems Agency."

RESULT: Warnings went ignored by institutions and the FBI. Told to keep quiet. Subject to surveillance and threats.
http://www.madcowprod.com/index45.html

Colleen Rowley

WHO: FBI field agent, Minnesota office.

CLAIM: That FBI head office perversely thwarted the investigation of Zacarias Moussaoui, throwing up unusual roadblocks which prevented exposing the terrorist use of flight schools in the summer of 2001. That Dave Frasca of the Radical Fundamentalism Unit altered her report, rendering it impossible for the FBI to pursue the matter further.

RESULT: After 9/11, Frasca – the senior official who altered Rowley’s report and sat on the Minnesota office's request to investigate flight schools, even though he had received a similar request from the Phoenix office – is promoted and commended.

http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/MOO208B.html

John O’Neil

WHO: Former FBI head of antiterrorism.

CLAIM: That his investigations into al Qaeda in general and the Cole bombing in particular were subverted by senior officials, and the situation had become much worse under Bush. Authorisation to re-enter Yemen to investigate the Cole denied by US Ambassador Barbara Bodine. Quit the FBI under a cloud.

RESULT: Killed in the World Trade Center.

5. Whistlerblower Coming in Cold From The FBI
MUST read..there is so much information in this article

...the article mentions a woman named Melek Can Dickerson, a Turkish woman married to a major in the U.S. Air Force. The woman told Edmonds that she couldn't believe America was monitoring people who were their chief "persons of interest" because Dickerson and her husband had done favors for them...shopping...

"Ms. Edmonds has told the Judiciary Committee that soon after, Ms. Dickerson tried to establish social ties with her, suggesting they meet in Alexandria and introduce their husbands to each other.

When Sibel invited the visitors in for tea, she said, Major Dickerson began asking Matthew Edmonds if the couple had many friends from Turkey here in the U.S. Mr. Edmonds said he didn't speak Turkish, so they didn't associate with many Turkish people. The Air Force officer then began talking up a Turkish organization in Washington that he described, according to the Edmondses, as "a great place to make connections and it could be very profitable."

Sibel was sickened. This organization was the very one she and Jan Dickerson were monitoring in a 9/11 investigation. Since Sibel had adhered to the rule that an F.B.I. employee does not discuss bureau matters with one's mate, her husband innocently continued the conversation. Ms. Dickerson and her husband offered to introduce the Edmondses to people connected to the Turkish embassy in Washington who belonged to this organization. ..."My husband keeps thinking he's talking about promoting business deals," Ms. Edmonds later said of the encounter. "He has no idea the man is talking about criminal activities with some semi-legitimate front."

These are classic "pitch activities" to get somebody to spy for you, according to a Judiciary Committee staffer who investigated Ms. Edmonds' claims. ...The targets of that F.B.I. investigation left the country abruptly in 2002. Later, Ms. Edmonds discovered that Ms. Dickerson had managed to get hold of translations meant for Ms. Edmonds, forge her signature, and render the communications useless."

13. Take a visit via the Net to the world of associations.
the reality is that it and other affiliated associations are the US government.

...

It is in and through such associations that US political, economic and military policy is made and the American public subsequently "educated" to support policies that are not, and could not, be debated in public because of their illegality, audacity, complexity and, arguably, necessity.

...

America Gives Birth to New EuroAsia

Now, before you yell, "Conspiracy," you might want to think Necessity and Stability, particularly in light of the opening to Central Asia, the Caucasus and the new Europe provided by 9-11. Pull up Net maps of Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe. Once you've done that, consider what political, economic and military activities (defined as US national interests) the United States has underway in those regions. It is no less than the development of a US-dominated New EuroAsia that includes the "Stans," Ukraine, Chechnya, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Belarus, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech, Croatia, and Poland. Crazy? Hardly, it is a brilliant gamble. There are many compelling reasons to create a New EuroAsia with the US with a controlling interest.

...

ACPC was founded in 1999 and is chaired by former National Security Advisor Zibigniew Brezinski, former Secretary of State Alexander M. Haig, Jr., and former Congressman Stephen J. Solarz. ACPC, according to its website, is composed of more than one hundred distinguished Americans representing both major political parties and nearly every walk of life.

And who are those 100 Americans? Well, to name a few, there's Geraldine Ferraro, former Democratic candidate for vice president; Frank Gaffney, CEO of the Center for Security Policy whose board members include Doug Feith, Gordon Sullivan, CEO of the Army Association of the USA, and Bob Livingston of the Livingston Group; Elliot Abrams and Mike Leeden. And who would have guessed that Richard Gere and PJ O'Rourke would be members of the ACPC?

And the story gets routine and boring as it moves on. The honorary chair of the American Georgia Business Council (AGBC) is James Baker III. Its members include ExxonMobil, Northrop Grumman and Ernst &Young. President of the AGBC is S. Enders Wimbush, a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute and former Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and Booz Allen Hamilton employee. A trustee of note on the Hudson Institute is Al Haig. The same connections, whether through individuals or organizations, can be found for Ukraine and Belarus, as well as Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

Six Degrees of Zibigniew Brezinski

14. That statesmanship is sadly lacking
and it will remain lacking at least until all this is out in the open and people realise what's going on. I think Stanton's article is right on the money as a description of the world of today. Is America moving in the direction of the People's Republic of China, the only difference being that the corporations own the state and not the other way around?

Interesting article/interview. So according to FBI director Mueller, the hijackers had no associates in the US. Yet, if we are to believe Dan Hopsicker, who has actually done the job none of the established media in America have been willing to do, they were involved in all sorts of shady business. He even alleges a very interesting connection to the Heaven's Gate suicide-cult, through the owner of the appartment which the San Diego hijackers lived in. Hmmm, religious fanatics committing collective suicide, what could be the connection? There may of course be none, but why is nobody investigating this?

If you haven't visited his site, it's a must. A very interesting interview there with 9/11 ringleader Muhammed Atta's girlfriend, whom it took him a year to track down. This alleged Muslim fundamentalist lived with a stripper, snorted coke, dressed like a pimp and loved pork-chops... and he was involved in drug trafficking and hung out with mysterious German fellows.

http://www.madcowprod.com/

What Hopsicker has discovered corroborates what Sibel is hinting at, which is that the people responsible for the 9/11 attacks were connected to drugs trafficking and some kind of intelligence networks. She's talking about 'private' intelligence networks, and criminal organizations with legitimate fronts.

"Isn’t it fair to demand that they should let the people know what kind of 'foreign relations' is worth 3000 lives lost?

Isn’t it this administration’s obligation to justify these costs in lives and in our national security for the sake of maintaining 'certain foreign relations' that benefit only the few?"

"Intelligence is also gathered by certain semi-legitimate organizations --to be used for their activities," said Edmonds. "It really does not boil down to countries anymore...< > When you have activities involving a lot of money, you have people from different nations involved.... It can be categorized under organized crime, but in a very large scale.".....

The DoD mentioned the ATC in their correspondence:

That what happened on 9/11 2001 was either LIHOP or MIHOP is very probable considering all we know at this point. What I hope is that when she finally talks she'll be able to shed a little light on who and why. I doubt it's as simple as Karl Rove or, alternatively, 'The New World Order'.

16. Sibel Edmonds: Letters to DoD, the Armed Services Committee and White Hous
January 24, 2005

VIA CERTIFIED MAIL AND FACSIMILE

Joseph E. Schmitz
Inspector General
U.S. Department of Defense
400 Army Navy Drive Room 1000
Arlington, Virginia 22202-4704

Dear Mr. Schmitz:

I am writing on behalf of our client Sibel Edmonds who, since August 7, 2002, has been in touch with your office on several occasions to raise serious allegations of security concerns regarding Air Force Major Douglas Dickerson. In light of new information issued by the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Inspector General, we reiterate Ms. Edmonds' request that the Department of Defense ("DoD") initiate and complete a thorough security investigation of Major Dickerson.

There exists credible documentary and witness evidence that Major Dickerson and his wife, Melek Can Dickerson, who formerly possessed access to TS/SCI through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, no longer possess the requisite degree of trust and integrity required to continue to have access to classified information. Indeed, our client believes Major Dickerson has committed numerous violations of the DoD Defense Personnel Security Program regulations. See, DOD Inspector General Regulation 5200.2-R. This would include activities that would render Major Dickerson subject to a revocation of his security clearance under the applicable adjudicatory guidelines involving, and perhaps not limited to, "allegiance to the United States", "foreign influence", "foreign preference", "personal conduct", "criminal conduct", "security violations", and "outside activities".

Based on her initial contact with your office, my client received a response letter dated August 22, 2002, that noted her complaint would be investigated under Hotline case number 85069. This was subsequently amended to include both case number 85069 and 85070. Less than three weeks later, Colonel James Worth, USAF, Director Inquiries Directorate, stated in a letter dated September 10, 2002, that there was "no evidence of any deviation from the scope of his duties", and that "we have closed the matter". Ms. Edmonds contacted Colonel Worth's office, and was told that due to a request from the Department of Justice the matter had been transferred there. During this time, Major Dickerson and his wife left the country in September 2002, even though they were allegedly under investigation by the Department of Justice.

Subsequent contacts with your office that were initiated by Ms. Edmonds' prior counsel and the office of Senator Warner failed to achieve any substantive result. Your letter to Senator Warner dated April 16, 2004, claimed that no further inquiry is warranted, and that the Air Force Office of Special Investigation ("AFOSI") had interviewed Ms. Edmonds and investigated the allegations in 2002. However, this assertion is completely inaccurate.

18. a very strange disclosure:
“…notably, in his letter of September 10th, Col. Worth states that OSI’s investigation focused on ‘Major Dickerson’s relationship with the American-Turkish Council.’ This statement is very troubling for a number of reasons. First, Ms. Edmonds never even mentioned the name of this organization in any of her communications with the DOD, DOD IG, Department of the Air Force IG, and AFOSI, concerning this matter.”

...

Yet why would the Pentagon specifically name an organization, connecting it with the suspect in the case, if there was no relationship? And why would they bring it to the attention of exactly the people they would have wanted to conceal it from? Did they assume that the story would break, and therefore that it wasn’t worth concealing? Or was the whole thing merely a mistake, a misunderstanding, a typo? In any case, there are clearly suspicious shades of the old paradox, ‘are you still beating your wife?’ at work here.

...

Indeed, the ATC is clearly quite an important organization with the ability to bring together highly influential people. According to its website, Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan addressed the organization’s “Golden Horn” members (i.e., those companies who cough up $9,500 annually) at a June event sponsored by Motorola, Raymond James, Boeing and Raytheon. In April, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Richard B. Myers addressed the group. Every major company known to man is either a member or a well-wisher. And so on and so forth.

However, scrutinizing the posted schedule covering the 244-day period of January through August 2004, one finds only 18 days that actually mention scheduled events. And there are no scheduled events at all for September through December (though they’re no doubt still being planned). So, unless the ATC is hurting for secretaries to put things down in writing, they don’t do too much meeting.

19. Immediately after 9/11 the FBI hired Melek Can Dickerson,
Edited on Tue Mar-01-05 01:24 PM by seemslikeadream
Immediately after 9/11 the FBI hired Melek Can Dickerson, a Turkish translator, who was given a top-secret clearance although she worked for organizations that were FBI targets of investigation and had ongoing relationships with two individuals who were FBI targets of investigation. Dickerson used her translator position to block investigations into those organizations until she left hastily in 2002 and to take top secret documents out of the FBI with the assistance of her supervisor, Mike Feghali, who was subsequently promoted to supervisor of the Arabic languages unit;

http://www.newswithviews.com/public_comm/public_commentary16.htm

Edmonds is the translator hired by the FBI after 9-11 to help its
woefully inadequate staff translate documents and wiretaps
pertaining to the attacks in languages such as Farsi and Turkish. As
she has told the Voice in past and recent interviews, she was given
a top secret security clearance. She soon discovered that there were
what she describes as two enemy moles with possible connections to
9-11 working both in the FBI and with the Air Force in weapons
procurement for Central Asia, at one point. These were the
Dickersons: Douglas with the Air Force and his Turkish-born wife,
Melek Can Dickerson, with the FBI as a translator monitor. After
they were subpoenaed for a court hearing, they left for Belgium in
September 2002 and have not been heard from since.

Among other things Edmonds told her FBI superiors, she had
discovered that Melek Can Dickerson affixed Edmonds's name to a
printout of inaccurate translations. Properly translated, she says,
these wiretaps revealed a Turkish intelligence operative in
communication with his spies in both the Pentagon and the State
Department.

20. Don't think so
the links in my and Seemslikeadream's posts above should lead you to most of the information that's out there.

For starters,
www.breakfornews.com/Sibel-Edmonds.htm

"Ashcroft may face prison over 9/11 cover-up, says Daniel Ellsberg"

I know what you mean about being curious!

22. Daniel Ellsberg
speaks: 'In an exclusive interview with BreakForNews.com he said that Ashcroft's legal actions against Edmonds were: "clearly intended to keep her from bringing out in public information that could lead.... to criminal indictments and possible convictions of major political figures."

Ellsberg says that if Edmonds' allegations are confirmed, the current Attorney General could be judged obstructive and share the fate of A.G. John Mitchell --who in Ellsberg v. Mitchell famously tried to squelch Ellsberg's 1971 revelations, and served prison time over the affair.

"John Ashcroft may well sleep eventually in the same cell as John Mitchell," Ellsberg said.'

21. from the MemoryHole Classified Letters Regarding FBI Whistleblower Edmonds

>>> The following three letters were recently declared classified, even though they had been considered unclassified since their creation in summer and fall 2002. They regard Sibel Edmonds, the former FBI translator who charges that the FBI's translation service 1) is incompetent and corrupt and 2) received specific warnings about 9/11 before the attacks.

As one step to gag her, the Justice Department refused to let her testify at a civil trial regarding 9/11, invoking the rarely-used "state secret" privilege. Meanwhile, the FBI refused to give Edmonds documents concerning herself, which she requested under FOIA (a court upheld the FBI's refusal). Then the FBI retroactively classified its congressional briefings about Edmonds, including any material resulting from those briefings.

This means that three letters written by Senators Leahy and Grassley are now classified. The first two have been pulled off the Senators' websites, although the third one inexplicably remains online . Edmonds and the Project on Government Oversight have launched separate lawsuits challenging this retroactive classification.

All three letters are reproduced below.

25. thanks again, minstrel boy, for another compelling discussion starter
Sibel Edmonds needs to have story put back on the front burner.

was it you that started a few threads on her not too long ago, or was it octafish

and I remember that movie: John Heard and Jeff Bridges, right?

Sibel was on Thisishell again last Saturday, for about a half hour. I was half asleep, but they talked about the latest in her case, and how OBVIOUS it was that the wheels of justice turned just slowly enough so that her victory in this facet would not see the light of day til after the election.

surprised?
