Rummy on Jim Lehrer: paraphrase: he talked to a friend or acquaintance soon after the attacks, the friend said "Maybe 9-11 was a blessing in disguise..." :tinfoilhat:

Meaning a wake-up call, showing that people mean us harm and next time they could use nukes or something.

Of course maybe it just gave somebody a convenient excuse to invade Iraq. That and Cheney's oil maps.

But a plane went into your building not far from where you and I are sitting. You were in the building at the time. Do you still think about that?

Maybe that will wake up the world to the fact that there are people out teaching people to kill innocent men, women and children. They're being taught that as young kids, and if the world doesn't wake up, there will be so many of those people and they will have weapons so powerful that maybe there be will a 9/11 -- a September 11 -- not where 3,000 are killed but 30,000 or 300,000. And that would be a terrible thing, he said. We've got... this has to be a wake-up call for the world.

JIM LEHRER: Was he right? Do you feel that it was a wake- up call?

DONALD RUMSFELD: I think so absolutely, yeah.

4. It did transform the Dude Who Stole the White House

from a guy who was falling fast in the polls to a symbol for the nation to rally around. Look how he got nearly everything on his wish list, including the war in Iraq. If no terrorist attack took place two years ago, the Commandeer in Thief would be scraping the bottom desperate for any credibility.

The attacks were the best thing to happen to the Renegade Regime.

Tasteless as hell for the beneficiaries to mention that. Hope more people pick up on it.
