1. Funny, I figured it was inevitable.
Face it, they are competing against each other, there's gonna be some infighting. Doesn't mean people won't come together when the nomination is in and the chips are down.

Come on over to the lounge, we're talking about nice wholesome things like cake baking.

Hang in there,

The Plaid Adder

17. Just like I completely missed the point of your post yesterday
I believe you missed the point of mine. I guess it's scary that I can post something so absolutely ridiculous and be taken seriously.

4. well, DU wasn't up
the last time there was a Democratic presidential primary, and if it had been, you'd have seen the same things. The fact that there are so many candidates makes it even wilder and woolier.

I don't have a problem with it myself, but I'm an unpragmatic idealist with elitist and purist tendencies who'll be supporting DK.

12. apparently we don't
a lot of what passes for debate here is name calling, and the long time posters set the tone, generally. New posters are freeper-labeled and summarily booted, if they start off with that tone.

But there is plenty of good honest debate, a lot of sharp minds, and this is a great place to get information. Sometimes I enjoy it more when I just go to LBN.

11. You'd think
someone had never experienced a primary before, huh?

It's called politics. It is nothing new, w/the exception of the internet.

I made this point earlier this week, and was ripped apart for it.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said.

18. It doesn't surprise me...
Most of the posters here are very vocal and have strong feelings about their candidates.

I guarantee you that when the Democrat who will run against Bush is chosen the moderators wlll not allow any more bashing of the Dem candidate so the people who cannot forgive and forget will just have to bite the bullet.

People will pull together for the most part because there is strong motivation to do so. If they don't Bush gets four more years and to some that is a fate worse than death---well, almost.

19. Never thought I'd see a day when I felt like bashing our own candidates.
I reached a point last weekend when I almost flushed my Yellowdog Democrat lapel pin down the toilet. Don't worry, I didn't do it!

My political faith comes from what I perceive to be right or moral. It is only logical for this to change with time. But time has shown that putting too much faith in candidates will lead to frustration and disillusionment. Only the right ideals can never betray you, but politicians always shall.
