2. NPR ran the quotation fairly early today and you could --

-- hear the laughter after Bush's last word, but in subsequent news coverage this evening, the laughter is cut off.

The original report clearly had laughter -- a sort of derisive toned laughter, as in, "Christ, is this guy really this stupid?"

They ran the derisive laughter in the first clip, but then edited it out in time for the on-the-hour updates.
