Have Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld or Rove been to any Veterans' funerals?
Edited on Tue Feb-22-05 03:02 PM by shance
They seem to be able to vacation, go on hunting trips and kill way over the limit, got to Europe.

What about the troops that have died? And for what have they died? Now, we have plans to invade Iran it seems.

Even if they went to one, how many others have they ignored?

2. Think its interesting, no replies. Doesn't look like they've
made it to any funerals.

Someone makes it a priority to block the coverage of coffins coming back to the states.

6. Yes, we have to sneak them back under cover of darkness. We
don't want to upset the security moms.

8. But according to Al Franken the wounded soldiers in hospitals in
the Washington DC area are being deluged with guilty senators & congresspeople.

10. But these are politicians so I am sure only the most "upbeat "of wounded
are allowed into that hospital. Why would the army propaganda stop when the guy gets his foot blown off? That would be the old assumptions.

13. Im with you AG. They're seeing sanitized version of everything,
Edited on Tue Feb-22-05 04:32 PM by shance
not to mention probably everything they do is first class. Kind of like royalty. Of course that keeps them comfortably distanced from the truth that awaits us all.

Even when they go to Iraq, they aren't seeing the Iraq they should see, they are seeing the safer, cleaner versions. They are seeing, or smelling, the areas that have no sewage, the hospitals with very little medications, lack of necessary instruments, no anesthesia, no bathrooms, no electricity all over Iraq, no water in many places around Iraq.

Not to mention all the jobs that have been taken from the Iraqis and handed over to Americans who can make huge sums of money on contract jobs.

They also aren't seeing the pictures (probably) of the bodies that look like they've been napalmed.

3. According to a detailed search, not one single funeral
I checked through Google and Stars and Stripes' web site and found not one single article showing either have gone to a funeral.

Shameful.

11. Thanks Tempest***Absolutely unbelievable.
You know, I just keep wondering, how much more are we going to take as Americans?

Ive heard that Iraqis are living on liquid valium from the streets just to get by with all the bombs and murders and death.

God help these people innocent Iraqis and innocent American troops who have ALL been put in harm's way because of this Administration. It should break every Americans heart.

Just aint right.

7. Why? None of their friends or families know anyone over there.
These people are insulated from the 'reality' of the war.

12. Which is a prime example of the significant problems of caste systems
and how they eventually destroy all civilized society (and Democracies) if allowed to dominate, when the balances of power and wealth become to distinct and one sided.

My father used to say everything in moderation is healthy and anything to the extreme is unhealthy.

He was right.
