Has anyone seen these bracelets on people?

I've seen atleast 5 people at my school with these bracelets at my school, and I've seen one person wearing this one:

These things make me ill.

2. All part of the Brownshirting of America.
This and the stupid magnetic ribbons on cars. I won't do it. Eventually, you'll be looked down upon and discriminated against if you DON'T have one visible.

11. Exactly what I was thinking.
Just like the magnetic ribbons - another case of jumping on the bandwagon.

8. Ebay
They are selling like hotcakes on ebay. There is also a blue version for those of us Blue Staters.

Personally, prefer the black ones. Has far more significance.

5. The right USES God and Religion to manipulate
and the stupid, too-lazy-to-think drones merrily do as they are instructed.

Its sickening.

The Bible tells us to even pray in private - not to wear your beliefs on your sleeve,so to speak.

Well, it'll help indentify the hypocrites and zombies, I guess.

25. All these people
out there promoting religious views and whatnot remind me of the story of the Pharasiee and Tax Collector. I believe that story is in Luke 18. I think. It's been a while since I've read it but I remember the story pretty clearly. My preacher has talked about it a good bit (at least twice in the last few months). It's where the pharasiee is out there praising God and making a big show saying how he's glad he's not like the tax collector and the tax collector is on his knee's and bowing his head and whatnot. These people are the pharasiee's. I guess these people don't know about praying in private.

7. So, you support our troops?
Most of us do; if not their actions, then at least we hope for their well-being. Surely there are better ways to support our troops than blowing some money on a rubber trinket.

Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 10:50 PM by Rapcw
in a 7-11. And one asked the other if they should get it. And my dad said, "Do you pay taxes?" "Yes." "Then you're already supporting them." She said yea you're right, and she didn't buy it.

15. These are the ones I want.
http://www.bandfortruth.com/

We were told we were going to war because there were weapons of mass destruction and Iraq was an imminent threat. That was not true.

We were told that Saddam Hussein was connected to 9/11. That was not true.

We were told that a 9/11 event would happen on a Democratic watch, when in fact, it happened on their watch. They are keeping us safe is not true.

We were told that the economy was improving and that outsourcing jobs overseas was good for America. That was not true.

We were told that the exit polls showing a clear Democratic win were wrong in the U.S., but valid indicators of fraud in the Ukraine. Exit polls have been historically accurate indicators until Bush’s ascendancy. Now, Republicans want to do away with them because they have “inaccurately” predicted Democratic wins in 2000, 2002 and 2004. Exit polls are used to gauge the truth about how people vote.

We were told that it’s not a big deal that we don’t have paper trails in our voting systems. We are also supposed to believe that despite the fact that the three major companies providing voting machine hardware and software for tabulation, Diebold, ES&S and Triad are aligned with the Republican party that our election process was fair. Paper trails tell the truth about how people voted.

We were told that the results of this election represented a “mandate”. Bush’s three-percentage-point margin in the popular vote is the lowest of any incumbent President ever to win re-election. It is not true that a mandate exists.

We are being told that the social security system is in crisis. According to the Social Security Trustees, there is enough money to pay full benefits until 2042, and according to the Congressional Budget Office, there is enough money to pay full benefits until 2052. It is not true that social security is in a current state of crisis.

17. Ah, the marketing of God.
How lovely.

How about God bless the whole world, no exceptions?

That would be nice.

And how about supporting the troops by speaking out when they are being used in an unjust, immoral manner???

Now THAT'S supporting the troops.

That means I win!

Oh also I have the flag tattooed on each of my corneas so I can see it 24/7. I win again!

But, hey, they bought a bracelet. That makes everything all right, doesn't it? I mean, it's a PLASTIC BRACELET! That really means they care.

20. CO-OPT the bracelets for YOUR CAUSE
The green bracelet pictured there can easily be converted to use. The "God Bless America" one probably shouldn't, imho. I find it blasphemous to dictate to God what he should and shouldn't bless. Conversely, I find it offensive to order God to damn anyone or anything.
