Chimp makes fun of child's name ("Imagine if my name had been Mungo Bush")
WASHINGTON - "Can you imagine if my name had been Mungo Bush?" the president joked Friday when a British reporter asked him to autograph a book for his son, Mungo. Bush seemed amused by the name.

2. Could Ya Imagin?
Wha? Could you imagine if you were a spoiled man-child pretender to the throne who laughed at the misery he has wrought and named it "uniquely American"? What a skid-mark.

5. Making fun of a kid's name. How Bush.
Hey, Mr. President what about Mungo Jerry? They did a nice pop song called "In the Summertime" back in the early 70's. Of course, Mr. President, you can't remember that song because back in the early 70's you were STONED ALL THE TIME!!!!

22. Yes, our esteemed Calif.
Secretary of Education publically told a young child her name meant "dirty little girl."

One thing that adults should never do, and should impress upon their kids never to do, is make fun of someone's name. That's the kind of shit a kid never forgets.

8. A search of the SSDI indicates
22 Americans with the first name MUNGO born between 1879 and 1915. All but one are New Englanders.

Uncommon, but not worthy of derision. They are, after all, probably honoring a family tradition.

Dubya: Imagine if your name had been Jeb.

14. What do you expect from a guy
who thought it was funny when a single mother of three, one being a special needs child, told him she was working three jobs? "When do you sleep?"
Hilarious.
Spoiled rich brat finds it funny that mother of three has to work three jobs in his crummy economy.
What an embarrassment this man is.

T-shirts that say "My Dad went to America and all he brought back for me was a moron's autograph."

I hope the book was "My Pet Goat."

You know, maybe we are reading this all wrong and what * was thinking was that if his Dad had named him Mungo instead of George he wouldn't have had to try to live up to his father's name and wouldn't have had to show his old man that he could be Prezdint too. He could have said to Poppie, "You can't expect me to go into politics or business with the name Mungo, so just pay my bar tab and leave me alone..." He could have just been good old Mungo, the life of the party. Mungo Walker Bush. Just walking his Mungos. Oh Christ, now I'm starting to make fun of the kid's name.

18. In years to come, people will think "Bush" a far worse name ...
If Bush really had taken the trouble to learn about Scotland, he'd know that "Mungo" isn't that unusual in some parts of the country, since it was the nickname of a popular saint there. (I haven't been to Scotland, but many of my friends and teachers are from there.)

Also, there was an explorer named Mungo Park who was quite famous in the 1800s. He died on one of his adventures -- but in terms of intellect and courage, he was probably ahead of GWB.

19. Who would want an autograph from Bush in the first place?
That is what surprises me, not the fact that Bush belittled a child.

21. or how about "Mungo Pierce Bush"
The family often recycles the surnames of people who've "married in" (that's where the "Walker" comes in). "Pierce" was Bar's maiden name.
