I just got invited to a cocktail party, guest of honor... Howard Dean!!!

I'm so excited! I was already attending the Local Democratic Appreciation Dinner on March 1st, where Dean is the keynote speaker. I just got off the phone with a friend from the state party and was invited to attend a cocktail party in honor of Chairman Dean before the dinner.

At the Appreciation Dinner there will be 1000 other people, at the cocktail party the venue is smaller and more intimate, I will hopefully get to converse with the Chairman personally!!!

Happy Happy Joy Joy, if I get to met Dean I will spontaniously combust with pride.

Just thought I'd share, cause I am freaking excited!!!

12. I actually met him in a small venue last year

I think it was after he lost the primaries but am not sure. He came to N.O. to speak at Tulane (to a packed auditorium) but had a small pow wow with his supporters in the afternoon. He gave a short talk and my husband, an energy consultant, pointed out to him that energy efficiency is often overlooked in favor of alternative energy, whereas energy efficiency strategies are sorely needed. Dean added that fact to his speech that evening at Tulane. I got my picture taken with him and told him that (blush) he was my hero and had inspired me so much. He gave me a very respectful and appreciative thank you. What a mensch!!!!
