Eight people are confirmed dead after a corporate jet registered to Circuit City Inc. crashed and burned in Pueblo County Wednesday morning, the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The weather was drizzly and overcast, with near-freezing temperatures, according Steve Bryant with Pueblo County Sheriff's Department.


And right on the news of CC closing 19 stores and becoming the target of a buyout.

siad the local store was closing - rather abruptly...



"Circuit City is the nation's No. 2 consumer electronics store, with more than 600 stores in the United States. In 2004, it closed 19 of its underperforming superstores and had plans to open 60 to 70 new superstores.

On Tuesday, a buyout offer from a Boston investment firm sent the company's stock prices soaring. When the New York Stock Exchange closed, shares were trading at $16.53, up 16.2 percent...."
