Damn Democrats
All through the political history of this country, Democrats have been on the side of the working man, the small business owner, the unionized employee, the underdog.

The Democrats aligned these people against the corporate big shot elites living like kings from the harvest gathered by the working man, small business owner and non-unionized employee.

Not only that, the Democrats have supported woman's suffarage, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Health care for everyone.

They have worked for civil rights for everyone. Even blacks, other minorities, and the smallest minority- gay people. Even gay people's civil rights!

So, you can see why we are so unsuccessful, unpopular and hated.

It's time to turn our sights on winning. No longer can we afford to support the underdog. We must give praise to the those few elite - living like kings, special people in order that we regain power.

We must turn away from civil rights and continue the old custom of special rights for those who deserve them due to their position in life.

4. no offense intended but you might wanna go reread history
This is the problem of labeling and believing everything somebody in "power" tells us. Think for yourselves; democrats are as bad as republicans. Once we can get past the "us versus them" mentality we might be able to go somewhere.

check out the voting record for the 1964 civil rights. It passed on with a bi-partisan effort. A number of democrats voted against it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_Rights_Act_of_1964

read up on the suffragist movement
From her British experience she adopted the idea of holding the party in power responsible for failing to pass the federal amendment. Since President Wilson was a Democrat, she organized enfranchised women to vote against all Democrats in 1914

oh yeah that freeing of the slaves thing
Abolishing slavery was almost exclusively a Republican party effort--only four Democrats voted for it

why both parties are bad for ya.

5. No offense taken
But if you only want to read a selective history, yes, one could be as swayed as you.

I do not pick and choose singular items from history, but instead take an overall view.

Did the parties sometimes seem identical at times? Of course. All these issues have been highly contentious with overlapping political destinations.

But in the long haul, the only reason we have any freedom from the overbearing slaveholders is because of the union of democratically minded individuals united and insistent on individual rights with equality for all. Sure, a few Republicans have come over to our side, but for the most part, they stand for the elite.
