Powerline Wingnut "Hindrocket" Slanders Jimmy Carter -- Demand an Apology!
Edited on Wed Feb-16-05 12:18 PM by johnfunk
Here's the story from Matthew Yglesias:
the increasingly influential Power Line blog thinks "Jimmy Carter isn't just misguided or ill-informed. He's on the other side," I think that's clearly right. Jimmy Carter left office as one of the least-loved presidents ever, and you'd still be hard-pressed to find a liberal who'll mount a really full-throated defense of his tenure in office. But on the other side? Not some academic or blogger or activist type, but a veteran of the United States military and a former President of the United States. On the other side. A traitor. These are serious allegations, seriously demented.

I don't think it's at all unreasonable to say that Hindrocket owes Carter a serious apology.
"Hindrocket" is one John Hinderaker. You can learn a lot about him from the capsule bio here. It might be a good idea to get a hold of this regressive Claremont Institute proto-McCarthyite and demand that he publicly apologize.
ON EDIT: Punctuation.

1. I just tried to call his office
Got what I assume to be his administration assistant. She was NOT happy about the call. Said, "I RESENT" having to take my call, offered to send me to voice mail. I told her that her feelings do not enter into the issue. She hung up on me before I could leave a message for Ass-rocket.

Maybe Hindrocker should hire a secretary who can take the heat!!

2. An assistant who resents having to take calls?
She's in the wrong line of work.

Or does she only want to take bootlicking calls? "oh gee golly, I think your boss is so swell!"

3. You should give Ass-rocket (i.e.his assistant) a call, share your opinion!
He wants to smear Carter, who's done more to try to foght poverty than any other American president? Let him know how YOU feel - and remember, it does not matter how SHE feels!

4. Find The "Gannon"
It'd be interesting to see if this "Claremont Institute" ties in with either a Morton Blackwell or Eberle enterprise. This is another "Gannon" type operation...and there are many others other there (I am convinced Freeperland is in there as well), that are coordinate and well funded through a very well oiled right wing aparatus...if you can get to "Gannon" from here, a lot of lights will turn on.

Cheers!

6. I Googled "Claremont Institute" and "Leadership Institute"...
... and, by golly, they seem to be mentioned in the same breath an awful lot.

Of course, you'll have 24,500 entries to slog through!

Why, you might think that they coordinate tactics and strategy.

7. Morton Blackwell...remember the name
He ran the phony "J-School" "Gannon" attended and handed out those purple-heart band-aids at the RNC. He's a protege of Floyd Brown...the Willie Horton master.

You'd think WE need to coordinate as well. I firmly believe this story is so large and has so many different connections, if there isn't someone piecing this together, all our work won't be used efficiently...and, (I've seen it already) we start dupliclating each others.

A great catch...I'm doing as you are...let's hope for a place where some or all of these people line up. IMHO...Blackwell's right in the middle of it.

10. Kick! Better yet, 'kick' John "Assrocket" Hindraker by contacting him!
Drop him a line at the Powersmear Blog and tell him to apologize to President Carter.
