The Cash-In of the Christo

(Actually 'cash in ON Christo.') They say art makes people think. And it seems some people have been thinking 'hey, now is my chance to sell some orange stuff.' Ebay now lists 287 "Christo" items, mostly fabric swatches. A 2.5-inch square patch of the plastic fabric is going for $10.50. Which means one of the 7,500 8-foot by 5-foot curtains would be worth around $9,700. Perhaps not such a great investment since we see pieces of the curtain which wrapped the Reichstag (plus a book) going for $6.

Other people are selling their pictures of the Gates (without much interest so far). And who could resist an 8-foot cardboard tube: "Christo The Gates Unfurling Tube Collector Item" for only $50?
