Fun an the FL State Fair
I wore my 'wake up and smell the fascism' shirt to the state fair today. I was pleased to have several folks stop me and shout out their agreement. I didn't get any negative comments, and the fellow who was selling photos even spoke about voter fraud and the irony of the Ukranian election in comparison with our own.

I think there are more of us out there than even we realize. Perhaps with a stronger DNC to energize the party, folks will begin to see that they aren't alone, and that together we CAN stand up and take this country back.

1. FL has its State Fair in . . . February?!?!?
I mean, y'all are subtropical and all that . . . is that how you avoid large gatherings during hurricane season?

More to the point, thanks for an encouraging report and a kick-ass t-shirt! :hi:

2. And to avoid the sweltering heat!
I think we should all make it a point to wear something, at all times, while in public, to show we are Democrats. A bracelet, a button, a ribbon, a tshirt, whatever.

10. The rubber band bracelets that the teens are wearing
have all kinds of sayings stamped in them. I had heard that the blue ones are worn by some Democrats to indicate Blue State. I found some in a little shop and bought one with "Truth" stamped on it. I wear it a lot but so far have not gotten any comments because it is pretty small and subtle. But it makes me feel good. I was thinking that if every Dem wore a blue rubber band on their wrist, it would be a sign of unity that would require no expense. But getting the word out would be the difficult part.

5. Always in February
Sometimes it's cold and/or wet, but today was beautiful--in the seventies and sunny. And hi back!:hi:

6. Yep!!
Or January. The heat in Summer would kill too many people to have us all outdoors. Just think of our summer as up North's winter. Not too many people leave the house.

Even soccer season for kids runs from October to February. It's really hard to get used to when you first move down here, but after spending one day in the 96 degree, 80 percent humidity heat, you catch on pretty quick.

Especially if you forgot the water.

3. AMEN!
It happens to me too- I'll forget I'm wearing a button (such as today when my "Bush Lied" button was on my purse) and someone stops me to say they agree. Today the guy at the gourmet counter at the market said "Great button".

Yesterday I saw a car parked that was covered with anti-Bush bumper stickers and anti-war stuff. Made me feel proud! Especially here in Florida. I've also noticed that many people have not removed their Kerry bumper stickers. Not sure if that's normal or not but I can assure you, even here in Florida (Dade and or Broward), there are still FAR MORE Kerry bumper stickers on cars then Bush stickers.

My car has a democraticunderground.com bumper sticker next to my Kerry Sticker AND there's one in the window that says Bush Cheated 04- Wake up Before It's Too LAte.

Be the media. We can do this! We are the moral majority.

8. It's always a boost
to see those Kerry stickers (and yard signs) still up. I'm in the middle of the state, and I do see plenty of the bush* stickers on cars, but I also continue to see Kerry stickers and yard signs.

We HAVE to be the media! I hope that my 'fascism' shirt will make oblivious folks around me stop to consider exactly what it means in relation to our country. But I do love it when others speak up and let me know that they're already with the program.:7

4. Someone actually talked about the Ukraine!?
Wow. I bet I could walk from here to Colo Spgs and not find a single soul who could even tell me where the Ukraine was.

7. No negative comments
'cause they didn't recognize the word "fascism" or know what it meant.

Seriously, that's GREAT. Thanks.

9. Yeah
my hubby said those that might disagree were so oblivious (as in brain washed) that they didn't register with the meaning of the message in relation to our country.
