Bush* wants to cut or eliminate over 150 programs that are social programs designed to help people with a total savings of fourteen billion dollars (about two weeks worth of Iraqi funding) and yet will not reduce the budget enough to keep us from record deficits. Iraqi spending is not included by the way, it is kept "off budget" so as not to attract attention. Bush* could cut every single social program there is and still not eliminate deficit spending. The interest on our debt is more than all social programs put together but that just continues to rise and rise. And Republicans are supposed to know something about financial matters.
