Gannon blackout
Incredible! There is not a single word about the big and growing Gannon scandal in this morning's Columbus Dispatch. Not. A. Word.

Wouldn't the MSM consider it news that a story that is exploding on the Internet is virtually unmentioned by any "offical" source? That's the story.

1. Just like the election...
I've been keeping my folks up to date on it...

They were totally unaware of it.

It's Clinton's fault
Everything is Clinton's fault. Didn't you know that?

End of sarcasm.

10. It will be Clinton's fault
until at least 2018 and possibly until 2042, but to get to the root of whose fault it is, you have to go all the way back to FDR.

3. I have been looking for it in my paper as well and sent a letter
to the editor today asking if they were planning to cover the fake news reporter. What is going on? This is surreal.

12. It is indeed Orwellian...
...the way that "Gannon", and almost every reference to him, was scrubbed from the Web thereby rendering him an unperson.

Except for the prescient folks who archived and mirrored his pages...

I'm sure the Ministry of Truth didn't count on that. :)

Just the drawing of Scott McClellan is priceless.

Everyone deserves to see this.

6. Why would they print a story about a potentially damning............
event when they themselves are complicit within the event? Fake journalists reporting fake stories, or merely reporting the very press releases from the WH, Pentagon, etc. as truth.

The Main Stream Media is as much a part of this story as Guckert himself. They're not going to incriminate themselves.

7. We're tracking the MSM's Gannon coverage in the MEDIA forum.
Take a look. PM me if you cannot find the thread, but MEDIA is not the busiest of the forums.

8. The Hartford Courant (CT) mentioned it
Small story inside Page 2. And, this is traditionally a Republican endorsing newspaper - they made national headlines when they endorsed Clinton.

9. This is the most careless and care less administration in my lifetime.
Edited on Fri Feb-11-05 09:31 AM by hector459
The fact that this person Gannon could into the WH Press room with such ease lets you know that the WH was complicit in his being a plant. If not, then the WH is the most careless operation around, endangering the lives of WH press by having such lax security and vetting.

This administration cares nothing about the safety, security, economic well-being of the general American public but they use that pretense to drive their agenda. If they were truly concerned about integrity, fairness, truthfulness, safety, security, freedom of the press and democracy they would have allowed these things to happen:

9/11: The word is coming out slowly about how the Bush admin ignored many warnings and refused to take Al-qaeda seriously because it was a holdover issue from the Clinton admin. I need not say more about this.

Bribes of fellow Congressmen by Tom DeLay, the ranking Republican in the House who himself is under investigation in TX for a variety of questionable business and embezzlement deals. So corrupt is he and the system under his leadership and so afraid of the corrupt administration are the rest of his colleagues that they allowed the rules of the ethics Committee to be changed to protect him and others like him.

A fake reporter in the WH press room who not only cavorts with the real press but was given access to a top secret or classified document that outed a female CIA undercover agent just to get back at her husband who was a critic of the administration because of the lies they told concerning Iraq trying to get "yellow-cake."

Skimpy and careless handling of real intelligence that might have led to the prevention of 9/11 and then lying about it.

Lying about WMDs and invading a sovereign nation that had not attacked us and had been a former ally with the US against our new enemy, Iran.

Barring members of the public who disagree with the President's policies from gaining access to Bush speeches and other events AND allowing only Bush supporters and members of their families to become part of "staged" and scripted appearances by Bush to make it look like a real town meeting.

Lying about several military "heroic" operations that turned out not to be true, such as Jessica Lynch.

Lying about Social Security and viciously attacking Dems who oppose the Presidents policies to the point of lying about them and having their paid media plants attack them and give advertisement and support to the President's position.

There is much more and you can add to this list and keep your people informed in places where the MSM is refusing to report the real news.

If we don't expose this stuff who will?

13. I think the emphasis in this thread is wrong.
The most important finding in the Gannon story is the acknowledgement that he was privy to a memo in the takedown of Valerie Plame - the act of which is against the law. He is going to appear in front of the federal investigator.

You are only talking about the frosting.

We should demand that the media cover the Plame memo and his exposure to or possession of it and what his assigned role was in the entire thing by asking for and getting an interview with Wilson.

Fake credentials and personal life is frosting.

There is a priority between the Plame and credentials issues.

I also think that no one here should hesitate about posting what they know or think about it for fear of overdoing it.
