Du-ers, please help with this question regarding tsunami/child sex trade:

This came off the Charles Stanley (fundie preacher) website.
I was under the impression that the tsumani did not hit Bangkok, and that as a result of the tsunami, orphans would end up there if not carefully monitored, but this Q&A has it the other way around. I would think that children on the coastal region where the wave hit would be a little safer from being exploited (pre-tsunami) than chidren living in inland cities, but I don't know enough about it.

I'm pretty amazed with how the fundies are STILL grasping for a way to connect this tragedy to JAYSUS. It's offensive. Everytime I read about a church group going over there the motive seems to be more about conversion than relief aid.

Yes, you're right, if God wanted to save children from the sex industry and gather them up to heaven, a tsunami would not be the most efficient way to do it.

But the disgusting gall of this person: to interpet the pictures we've seen of mothers crying over their dead children as a blessing, because now the children won't be sucked into the sex trade!!!!!!

Honestly, more children were probably MADE orphans by this tragedy and are more likely to become part of the sex industry.

This is a horrible thought, but, I wonder if some of those fundie preachers are salivating at the chance to go over there BECAUSE of the child sex trade, not in spite of it.

Charles Stanley is a rising star on the fundie scene, probably wants to be the next Billy Graham.

The scandals his White House produced lead me to believe he regularly endorses participation in child prostitution. Some of the very same people implicated in those scandals are currently residing in his son's White House.

Take a real good look at what they've done to CREATE more child poverty than we've had in 20 years. Take a real good look at the homeless situation and the criminal acts of "Good Christan's" who murder women for their unborn children, starve and abuse their own children, and turn a blind eye to the murders of Iraqi children by the droves. When you see THAT picture you can't help but realize we have seen it before. During the previous bush administration children were abandoned and neglected and abused by the millions.

BTW, if the fundies vision is correct about God calling home his children to protect them. What the heck does he have in store for the administration and the fundies protecting them?
