Landrieu (D-LA) voted for the confirmation of Gonzales.
Edited on Fri Feb-04-05 09:11 AM by Cascadian
Just a few of the "Democrats" who voted for the confirmation of Alberto "Angel of Death" Gonzales.

Lieberman (D-CT)

Salazar (D-CO)

Pryor (D-AR)

Nelson (D-NE)

Nelson (D-FL)

Who can really call these people Democrats? To those Demo Senators that did, they have been redeemed in my view. They deserve the thanks for Naying Gonzales.

1. We should each thank the nay voters in our home states

I was very pleasantly surprised by the results of the vote, because it can't be dismissed as token resistance, and it's a bad omen for the Bush Empire. Here's hoping all 45 vote nay on the social security reform. I have more respect for the Dems who didn't vote at all!

2. If they jump ship on SS, too. We're sunk.
And of those five, three are on the talkingpoints memo list of potential chickeshit ship jumpers on SS, with Carper as a fourth.

If Carper and those listed above jump ship on SS, it's done. SS is officially killed forever.

Ben Nelson is on the whirlwind tour with Dubya.

3. I had a hunch Nelson from Florida was a DINO. This only confirms it.
I wonder why he did it? Where does he think he's going next? Must have some delusion that he's running for Governor.

4. Lieberman is the worst.
after the mafia love kiss the other night i seriously think he needs to return his democrat ID card.

its over. he and mcCain should get an apartment and bush can visit and they can party together. cause the three of them make me ill.

McCain has totally lost his soul. that he would vote for someone who who... oh man you know what i mean.

6. Ben Nelson is certainly a DINO, but he also lives in a state that is 70+%
Republican.

It's a fine line he has to walk, but it's one that he crosses much too often, in my opinion.

7. We need Arthur Morrell to challenge Mary Landrieu next race.

If Mary Landrieu thinks she can count on my vote for re-election merely because she says she's a Democrat, she's got another think coming. I want a senator who will act like a Democrat. And if she continues to act like a Republican, then I'm going to treat her like one when she's up for re-election.

I personally think that Arthur Morrell is brilliant. His campaign website is still up from the 2004 Senate race. Check out his stance on the issues - I want him representing me in the Senate!

From http://www.morrellforlouisiana.com/

I am the only candidate in this race who proudly and publicly stands with the Kerry-Edwards ticket.

I am the only candidate in this race who has served my country as an active member of the armed forces.

I am the only candidate in this race who opposed the war in Iraq and continues to oppose the Patriot Act.

I am the only candidate in this race who will protect civil rights for all Americans.

I am the only candidate in this race who will protect a woman's right to choose.

I am the only candidate in this race who has lived the American dream; I have risen from poverty and want to ensure that everyone is entitled to this same opportunity.

I am the only candidate in this race who will see that your vote is never compromised.

I have served as a State Representative for 21 years. My record is consistent with my message. I am a loyal Democrat and my only special interests are the people of Louisiana.

9. Morrell should try for it again the next time.
He is the kind of candidate that we need in the Democratic Party.
