C'mon people. Where is the smoking gun
that will discredit Bush in the eyes of MOST Americans?
Don't the Dems have a team on this, just like the Radical Right did as described in "Blinded By The Right"?

13. lied twice

He likened his plan the federal workers' Thrift Savings Plan. There's a BIG difference between the two, though; with TSP, I can borrow against the amount if I like and roll it over, spend it, plop it in the back, whatever.

I don't contribute beyond the bare minimum because I don't want a lot invested in this career or in any stock or funds of any kind; I just find the entire system abhorrent in ways I can't easily express here and now (it's a whole other thread; perhaps I'll post on it tonight). Among other things, it has to do with a supreme dislike for the job I hold now combined with an equal dislike of the Wall Street machine, but I digress.

Bush lied. His plan is nothing like the TSP enjoyed by Federal workers, which they by the way are allowed to contribute to in addition to their nominal SS contributions.

Bush tried to sell us all a giant Ponzi-like scheme last night. A shell game. And that's being charitable!

2. Bush's following is more like a cult than a political movement
He literally can do no wrong in their eyes.

He could snort a line of coke from the Presidential podium during a press conference and they'd defend it.

4. Cheer him on on his road to "recovery"
just as they did limbaugh when fascist substitute hosts like convicted felon roger hedgecock wished rush well as he spent time in a recovery clinic. There no longer exists conservative values. If those who voted for bush had values, he would not have been elected.

5. Cult of Personality (or lack thereof)
You hit the nail on the head. Like all "fealess leader" types, Bush has built a cult of personality. Look at Bush's cabinet, every single one of the new appointees owes their career to Bush and/or his family. No voices of dissent, no constructive criticism, just "Yes sir, Mr President, I was thinking the exact same thing."

8. The Bush Cabinet is the very definition of Groupthink
"a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members' strivings for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of action."

Even Colin Powell got caught up in it.

7. It's true
But it's not a political phenomenon, it's a more general psychological phenomenon. You can see it on the left as well as on the right. As much I as miss him, Big Dog is a case in point.

3. Good luck
I've been looking for it for 4 years....actually more because I was afraid this a-hole would beat McCain in the primairies........

the problem seems to be that no matter what you tell the American people, they would rather believe Bush** and Co porpaganda rather than face the truth....

why?

Because the truth about aDUBYA and his merry band of Nazis' is so ugly that nobody wants to face it.

and it's getting worse....the farther we go with this administration, the more divorced from reality we are becoming (as a country) and therefore the harder it is for the country to face the truth...the horrible, horrible ugly truth about this man and this administration.

11. you may have just hit on what a liberal is
someone who isn't afraid of the truth. All I have ever seen in conservatives and or republicans is a fear of shaking the status quo,a need for idols and thier refusal to deal with the realitys of humanity.A freeper term they hold dearly is " Stary eyed Idealist "
as a way to shun the responsability of being a civil creature. They over penalize the truly bad to avoid dealing with thier little demons.White collar criminals not only go free, they are respected for thier buisiness sence .They want to grow up just like Poppy.

6. Bush could screw sheep on the White House Front Yard ......
...... and if he dropped a Jesus or I love the troops or Liberal Media afterwards
his cult would say, "How dare that sheep attack his penis w/ her reproductive track.

:kick:

Hell, Arnold told bald faced lies at the repug convention and now "they" want to
change the Constitution so he can run for President. "They" watch fox and
listen to their Christian leaders ....... "they" are gone.

14. What was it they used to say
about Huey Long? That he'd be re-elected unless they found him in bed with a dead girl or a live boy? That may be the only thing that will work.

15. We don't need a smoking gun. What if the smoking gun is a mushroom cloud
Let's start attacking Bush using the same kind of stuff they used to "prove" existence of WMD.

We can't wait until there is a smoking gun. We have to stop Bush before the scandals come out!
