Inflation Calculator (1913 - Present): See if your Salary has kept pace
For example:

If you were making 27,000 in 1987. You 2004 salary would have had to be $44,873.24 to have kept pace.

1. In 1986 I was making about 12,000 a year, in today's dollars
I would need to make about 21,000 (I make over 3 times that now) so I have kept up.

It is interesting to see though how things compare dollar wise - has minimum wage kept up???

4. It's interesting that you post that.
Tax cuts hardly ever boost the economy in a robust way, but increasing the minimum wage always does. I feel awful for those trying to make ends meet on minimum wage, but I know that the repubs would gain a huge amount of public support if they increased it.
