4. I'm asexual
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 07:00 PM by Democrat Dragon
Sorry, but I'm the type of person who can get caught by a mirror. I personally cannot deal with lifetime commitment and I'm not the type of person who can dedicate myself to someone else.

9. None of the options represent me.
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 07:16 PM by Withywindle
I'm bi I guess, in an 80%/20% kind of way--I'm attracted to men and involved with men (the opposite sex) a lot more often, but the relatively few women (same sex) I've hooked up with...I definitely wouldn't say it's "not my cup of tea." :)

Most bisexuals I know (men and women both) feel somewhat more attracted to one gender than the other, more often. 50/50s exist, but they're rare.

10. And the point is? Why ask?
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 07:26 PM by troubleinwinter
We get polls on our income, how we describe ourselves politically, the level of math we use in our jobs, our age, how many are mothers, etc., etc.

What is the need for this? Why do we need to measure and quantify sameness, differences or majorities/minorities here?

11. No real point.
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 07:26 PM by UdoKier
Although I like to remind people that there are a lot of people out there that don't fit into a neat little "straight" or "gay" box. Seems like a lot of what people say goes on the assumption that that's all there is...

A full 27% have identified as more or less bisexual.

13. I had just edited my post above.
I would prefer to point out the variations among us with discussions of the subjects, rather than taking polls to show who is most represented by majority, and who could bee seen as "fringe" or "unusual".

It just makes me uncomfortable. Just my feeling on it.

17. Fair enough.
But I don't consider Straight, Gay, or Bi people to be "fringe" or "unusual". I realize there are people like that out there, though, and understand your feeling on this.

FWIW, this is not a scientific survey, since most DUer's will not be responding.

18. I don't consider it fringe or unusual, either.
That's why I dislike these polls.

14. I like straight people, but hetero sex makes me shiver
I can watch two gay men having sex all day and it doesn't bother me even though I'm a lesbian, but heterosexual sex gives me the shivers. I've had straight sex and it felt pretty good physically, but the smell of men made me nauseas and I didn't want to open my eyes. And I like masculinity too, just not on men. I only date masculine women. Something about the smell, skin texture, and general emotional energy of men is a HUGE turn off for me. I still don't mind seeing public affection between two straight people, though. I support people's rights to love whoever they want.

15. Some of my best friends are women.....but
sleeping with them does absolutely nothing for me. I've been to bed with several very lovely women and its just not for me. I do find certain women beautiful, and have an appreciation for their attractiveness.

21. one result is dishonest
"I have dallied with the opposite sex, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I stick with the same sex." 3

Gotta think the number is far higher for this answer. and am curious why it's so low esp given the total votes. i have met so many persons who fit this description that i suspect the number should be around 20.

23. A friend of mine and I have a game...
Where we'll make up a list of celebrities that we'd turn for. She's a bi girl, but likes men more. I always have a ready list of celebrities that I find sexy, but it's really more abstract. I don't have any real intentions of trying things out with the opposite sex, despite how attractive I may find someone.
