Ruining a fundie "the Big Bang never happened" talking point
A fundie once told me that the Universe couldn't have been created by an explosion because "an explosion cannot create anything." Explosions can only destroy, and so because of this God had to have created the universe.

I point you to http://www.highenergymetals.com/, a company in the Seattle area that does "explosive welding."

I point you to Mount Rushmore

which was carved using high explosives.

I point you to the Crazy Horse monument

which is being carved with high explosives.

And I point you to the universe, which was created in an explosion.

1. The big bang was not an explosion.
And those people are fools who should be spit at, not argued with.

"Have I said yet tonight how much I hate these people?"

2. I don't think the "big bang" was an explosion in the conventional sense
Plus it took billions of years of extremely slow long-running processes to result in the state of "creation" we experience today.

As far as more conventional explosions, they are going on all the time in the engines of cars (which provide useful motion) and inside nuclear reactors (producing electricity for homes & businesses).

3. Yeah, what benburch said
and also... Remind him that just like explosions don't create anything, dead people don't rise up and leave their tombs.

5. Refer To Hawking "A Brief History Of Time"
The first chapter. Of course, he also says the expanding universe theory does not preclude a creator.

After all, the Creator could have just made it look like the Big Bang happened to provide us with a source of amusement. If there is a God, I rather like thinking of him* as one big prankster.

* spare me any politically correct, gender nuetral terms. Considering the bum rap women get in this world, any divinity has to be male!
