Any DECENT President would address the youth of America:
"A recent poll indicates that young people think the Constitution goes too far in spelling out the Civil Rights we enjoy. To them I say: You are so wrong. The rights we enjoy are rights which our forefathers in their great wisdom spelled out as being rights which are not to be surrendered. Rights which our ancestors fought and died for. Rights which have been amplified through the works of great Americans like Susan B. Anthony and Dr. Martin Luther King, enhanced through the sacrifices of countless men and women who shed their blood so that you may enjoy true liberty. That blood runs through you, young people of America. Never forsake those rights. As your President, I will work every day not only to protect your civil rights, but to make sure you embrace them. Thank you."

.....and then I woke up. I doubt these words will come from this guy anytime soon.

4. I don't really think that sort of thing...
...is the president's job. Like when American schoolkids couldn't find Sweden on a map in the mid-90's, we didn't cry for Bill Clinton to go on TV with a globe.

At any rate, I don't neccessarily think it's that significant, for several reasons. We don't have numbers from other age groups, or historical statistics on the question. That, and the young tend to believe all sorts of extreme things. When people grow up, they mellow a bit, for the most part.

Of course, some people never grow up!

5. Any decent president wouldn't have to HIDE from America's youth
or the rest of us, for that matter.

$40 million for security for a few hours? :wtf: Somebody must have a lot of enemies. Some mandate.

On topic, it is really sad to try and discuss civic matters with most young people today. They don't have a chance cuz they have been kept ignorant.
