4. Corp CEOs Now Held to Higher Standard than Bush
It's interesting that an administration that puts so much store on taking personal accountability doesn't seem to practice it. The finger pointing and blame shifting the last 48 hours was astonishing.

Also distressing is that now, with Sarbannes-Oxley, CEOs are held to a higher standard of truth than the President. If a CEO signs off on a misleading financial report -- knowingly or in ignorance -- (e.g. 10K, Annual Report to Shareholder, earnings press release) he and his / her minions are subject to fine and imprisonment of up to 10 years.

That's why you'll never see this AP article: Dullman D. Plant, President and CEO of Amerilie Software, defended his use of fradulent financial data in the annual letter to shareholders by claiminng that his chief financial officer had vetted the report and did not object.

"George Rules, our CFO, could have at any time told the CEO to take those numbers out of the letter," said Amerilie spokeperson Fondasleeza Chaffe. "President Plant has no responsibility for the accuracy of the numbers."

5. exactly
somebody the other day used this very same analogy, when questioning a wingnut on TV about His Ignorance's culpability.

the respondent, of course, weakly replied that the res couldn't POSSibly be expected to vet every single item that was tossed into his playpen.

but wasn't that one of the most saleable aspects of his CV during the selection campaign: sure, we know he's not up to speed on ANY issue, but he's shown that he's such an excellent leader that those with whom he surrounds himself will make sure that everything runs as smoothly as your favority simile.

after all, he's a HARVARD educated MBA

we'll have a country run by a most successful CEO!

just what this country needs, right?
