The tsunami has proven beyond a doubt that fundie Christians are WRONG.

One of the most fundamental beliefs of fundamentalist Christians is that humans are evil and therefore in need of salvation. Well, I have been watching the response of the human race to the destruction of the tsunami and it has been (except for the Bush Family) one of breathtaking compassion, generosity, and non-racism. The keys to this outpouring have been media coverage and trust in organizations receiving donations.

Tonight on my cell phone there was a tsunami message with a phone number for donating to UNICEF! The unity and goodness of the human race in responding the the disaster has been phenomenal and innovative.

Anyway, the next time a fundamentalist tries to tell you that humans are inherently evil just point out the response of people all over the world to the tsunami. It's the rulers of the world that are evil, not the people. I hope with all my heart that someday we can find a way to circumvent the heartless reptiles who usually stop our basic humanity from prevailing.
