Will we leave Iraq after the elections?
There seems to be two different sets of opinions here. One set says "We are never leaving." The other says "we will cut and run."
Where does the majority stand?

4. Are you kidding? Not unless we could build a pipeline straight
through the center of the Earth, directly connected to Houston, TX.

5. To suggest the US might leave Iraq is to miss the point of the war.

The point of the war is the occupation.

6. I think we're planing on partial pullout and set up of a base ...
near the Kuwait border where we can stage the eventual invasion of Iran. We may have a few troops in the north and a base here or there but most of the country will be turned over to the Iraqi's. We'll let them fight it out with each other and may give secret support one side or the other. As for a total pullout, no way!

7. they will declare democracy in place...
and go to the nearest four letter country beginning with I-R-A....
of course leaving enough energy mercenaries, i mean soldiers, to protect pipeline routes, i mean to preserve a nascent democracy. negroponte will oversee it all as he did with battalion 316 in Honduras.
elections all 'round democracy is coming-hide.
a little tidbit- Canada is sending over election monitors to ensure Iraqi election goes smoothly. Admittedly they will be monitoring from Jordan. Perhaps the sands will blow the messages that all is well in Mesopotamia and the monitors can sleep peacefully-job well done

9. Well, going by what happened after the elections in
Afganistan, I'd say "HELL, NO". Bush is working on a pattern here; to rid America of future retirees, he's going to keep starting wars and leave people in each country to guard democracy until they either freak and run or are killed. This is his s.s. plan in a nutshell.

10. This is what I think
we will exit leaving those behind to guard the oil.... then we will move on to Iran or Syria. I should not say us, the Christians will do this.

11. Do you really think...
that Bush wants the Iraqi people to decide the outcome of their country?
