"Control Room" to air on Sundance Channel
Edited on Sun Jan-16-05 10:15 AM by ginnyinWI
On January 24th. This is the documentary about the marine who was assigned to be a spokesman on Al Jazeera, and how badly we have screwed up PR on that network and to the Arab world. Should be good!

2. saw it via Netflix about a week ago
my take on the movie:

it contrasts Al Jazeera with the U.S. network coverage of the war.

In particular, it repeatedly shows nearly all U.S. reporters covering the war getting their stories from the military, without any other viewpoints. They are "fed" Jessica Lynch on the day that the U.S. went into Baghdad.

more to it than, too...

3. Netflix viewer also
Highly recommended.

The duplicity of the US in demanding the coordinates of the news agencies in Iraq and then bombing Al Jazeera is pretty chilling. Everthing seemed well documented.
