Is it true that W is afraid of horses?
Or is that just a rumor to counteract the cowboy act?

If he is...

It would be interesting for demonstrators or even just public opposition to him to start holding up pictures of horses, appearing with horses and just in general trying to remind him of horses all the time.

You know, subliminable warfare.

3. Oh, he's afraid of them alright.
Otherwise, we'd have to suffer through hundreds of photo-ops with him on horseback a la Ronald Reagan.

Instead, he rides a stupid golfcart around his "ranch" (which was a pig farm up until 1999 when he bought it).

And a horse's kick can severely or mortally injure a person. George is afraid of horses for a very good reason. :-)

25. Just checked an online German-English dictionary
Blucher doesn't have a meaning in German, even with the little umlaut over the u.

Glue is Leim.

I'm so sad. Blucher=glue would have been perfect.

20. I teach horseback riding
Whenever I have a student who is timid around the school horses, the horses start to act up (fidgeting, pawing, pretending they are going to nip, spooking for no good reason). Of course, this makes the student more nervous...and so it goes.

They are not mean. They are prey animals and fear is a good thing to be afraid of when you might get eaten by a mountain lion.

I can understand someone new to horses being afraid...but a loud-mouthed idiot on a ranch I would have thought would be a shoe-in. That leads one to believe horses "fear" might just be horse sense after all.

I think that's the hidden message behine the comments about him riding his ranch in his 4X4.

I can understand why a city boy would be afraid of livestock, but I'm surprised the real Tecans haven't caught on yet.

21. According to Pickles - "two little horses"
From the disastrous trip bu$h* and Pickles had when they visited the queen:

"Mrs. Bush went on to say that she and the president had been pleasantly surprised to find they shared interests with the queen and the prince which had helped ease their nervousness."
-snip-
"We like a lot of the same things," she said. "We have dogs that we love. We have two little horses on our ranch. So there are lots of things, a lot of similarities that we have."

:wtf:

As a former horse owner, and from being around many other horse owners, I have never heard anyone say they owned "two little horses."

Yes, Georgie Porgie is afraid of horses (even little ones).

26. The Horse's Ass
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 07:27 PM by doodadem
We own three horses on our little ranch. I've ridden for most of my life. I agree that not only will you not stay seated for long on a horse you are deathly afraid of, they also will not tolerate rough/mean handling for long (see earlier thread on Bush and animal cruelty).
I don't see the point of owning a large ranch if you don't want anything to do with animals. Hmmmm......is there a parallel here with Bush owning America, but wanting nothing to do with Americans? It reminds me of the old cartoon from the wizard of Id, where Rodney the knight comes running in and says, "Sire, the peasants are revolting". The king, looking down from his tower, sighs, "I know".

34. In order to ride a horse you have to be smarter than the horse is.
Actually, as a riding instructor and trail guide i've seen plenty of big mouth aggressive guys made fools of by horses.

My guess is that a control freak like Bootsie would not like entrusting his well being to a thousand pound animal with the intellect of a three year old child.

It's bad enough his dog doesn't listen to him.

him a hard time because of what they sensed.... they certainly shied away from the tsunami well enough.... it's quite possible that horses know what 51 million repugs can't figure out... heh heh heh....

I mean, they are talking about paying attention to animals for the possibility of predicting impending natural disasters and stuff.... perhaps horses sensed that we would have a 4 year natural disaster once all the chads were in.... who really knows these things???

Sixth sense
“The horses brought out the best in Cole, and he brought out the best in the horses. Horses, or animals in general, seem to have a sixth sense that makes them aware of an individual’s disabilities,” said Butkowski.

"aware of an individual's disabilities" 'nuff said.
