Is Your Democrat US Senator A Chicken$hit

I think mine from Washington State are not going to stand with Sen Conyers.........Talking with their aides gives me that feeling....

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY......WHAT IS WRONG WITH BEING RIGHT

1. my senator
is honorable and trustworthy...

he doesn't have to prove himself to me anymore.

I trust he knows his job well and I'm sure he will act for the best possible outcome.

14. And your state is...
helps us differentiate between the chicken$hit senators who are part of the problem, and the chicken$hit senators who are the problem.

deep in the caverns, i can hear Bob Shrum whispering... "Don't take the risk of challenging. COme 2006 and 2008, where are they gonna go, anyway? They'll still vote democratic. oh, and Mr. President, my bill is in the mail."

and is it me, or does Harry Reid look like Gollum. Or was that Bill Frist who looks like Gollum.

or do they both look the same.

21. yup
Kerry and Kennedy are my senators. And Kennedy's office in DC told me at four o'clock today that the Senator expects the election to be certified. when i pointed out that the question i had asked was whether the senator would be challenging the outcome so that there would be a chance to talk about possible fraud, he said the senator would not be challenging the election.

as for Kerry, i think he's out of town. way out of town.

these guys took an oath to uphold the constitution, not to pick and choose which parts of it they were willing to fight for.

i am bookoo disappointed in these two. and i have little expectation they will do "the right" thing; the "right" thing is obvious

26. your outlook is very different from my own
Ted and JFK know how the game is played.

Kennedy has had a target on his back for years and APPEARS (not is) so radical that it would slant the remainder of the proceedings.

If JFK is there he'll be accused of power grabbing.

If it's worth the effort of contesting, it's worth doing your best to make the effort successful.

27. disagree
if it might be a violation of the constitution, you have no choice but to fight it, since your oath of office is to preserve, protect and defend the constitution.

sometimes, you cannot do it elegantly. sometimes you won't win.

but if you think that exculpates you from the responsibility to fight for the constitution, then we are in much worse shape than i thought we were.

William Lloyd Garrison, the "father of abolition" came from the town i live in. Today I brought my class of 9-12 year old kids past his statue.

"I will not equivocate... and I will be heard."

sorry, friend. i simply, powerfully disagree with your take on this.

31. It just takes 1 senator...
To open the debate. Just 1.

Whatever the outcome, Ted gets my vote in '06

If he is still in the senate, JFK gets my vote in '06

32. one senator to open the debate...
to do the right thing?
but not one of our guys doing the right thing, just some other senators.

sorry, i can't split hairs. they should all stand up; there shouldn't be a single one of them who took the constitutional oath who should have any doubt whatsoever about their responsibilities.

f*ck just one senator.

remember Alice's restaurant...

"if just one of you do it, they'll think you're crazy and they won't take you.
and if two of you do it, they'll think you're both queer, and won';t take either one of you.

and if three people do it... three people, can you imagibne three people... they think it's a movement, and that's exactly what it will be."

34. check out Will Pitt 's post

"In a perfect world, all 100 Senators would stand up because of one simple fact: They are where they are because of the vote, and if they do not protect that vote, it may be them looking at the short end of the stick come some future election day. All 100 should stand, but it only takes one."

Ted should stand up I agree on that but I think it would be much more likely to effect the following debate with a partisian response from across the aisle were he the only one to sign on.

It's not a perfect world. It's also VERY likely that first of the signer(s)-on will be in the crosshairs of the MSM RW attack machine for the rest of their careers.

Have you any doubt that once that 1 senator does stand up, that Ted will do his due dilligence in the debate that ensues?

36. Aw, I feel bad for you
In fact, I feel so bad that I'm willing to give you one of my Senators. Yessirree, Norm Coleman is all yours. ;) OK, that was mean. I'll make it up to you by throwing in Mark Dayton. He's too spineless to contest the election so you probably don't want him either but those are the only two I have to offer for now. And if you think you're not getting much, please try to consider that I'm from the state that gave you Paul Wellstone. He was EVERYBODY'S Senator so at least you had a Senator for awhile when he was around. R.I.P. Paul. You can bet he'd contest the damn election if he was still here. You can also bet that he'd let the other Senators on both sides of the aisle have it for not standing up for democracy. It's times like this when we need Wellstone more than ever.

18. When used as an adjective, it's always--ALWAYS--"democrat-IC!!"
Democratic senator, not "democrat senator."

"Democrat senator" is Rove-speak meant to be perjorative, and it's also grammatically incorrect.

Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 09:24 AM by anarchy1999
Both of us Mr and Ms Anarchy1999, hold a special place in our heart for Cornyn. Thanks to him and his politics we lost our jobs in March of 2001.

Kay Bailey is worse yet. Her office on Central Expressway in Dallas, will not even let you in the door, and rarely do they answer the phone. If they do answer you damned well better be towing the R line or you are done for.

When it comes to representation in Texas by our Senators, we don't have any.

I actually had one of Kay's staffers tell me my opinion did not matter because Kay was not coming up for re-election and on top of that she intends not to run again, so go f' yourself.

on edit:
They are both Republicans pos's.
