C'mon George, we're the ONLY Superpower in the freakin' world. It's a pittance in our economic picture. Give it up!

1. I really hope
this money raising does become a competition; it will only help the tsunami victims.

2. I think the world is showing us that we're not the only nation
capable of helping...or leading the way in helping.

I believe a long thought truism is about to change. The dynamics, they are a shifting.

4. Good for Japan. I knew they wouldn't take second place to the
spawn of a drunken man who :puke:ed on their prime minister.

In LBN, but that's all I remember.

"Out of every evil comes a greater good."

And here it is!

"Good" is relatively speaking. Japan's system is far more pressure-ridden than ours and a lot of people commit suicide over there :-(, but I usually try to avoid glib generalizations...

6. I read we spend $1million every minute on Iraq
I'm sure we can give a little bit to help these people.

The whole world stood with us after Sep. 11. (we didn't need aid obviously) and now we are ignoring them in their time of crisis.

11. I think that's around the same figure Bush pledged yesterday... combined
We've now pledged about 350 million in aid (Might have been 300), not sure. Anyways, if you combine the cost of the manpower, airpower, to get the aid into these areas (Which are very remote in some circumstances) it will be somewhere around 500. Anyways, in the end, we'll send about a billion.
