She and her caller are talking about the repugs being fascists and taking over our country.

I feel a flood coming! John Kerry where are you?

1. The "f" word - fascists
Let's call them what they are, shall we?

We should not be afraid to label them for what they are. I have never been offended when someone called me a liberal because I am a liberal. I like being a liberal.

So, in that spirit, I will start referring to ** and co. as fascists. They probably won't mind since that is what they truly are.

5. I've been using that word a lot.
It really drives some people nuts. But when you get down to the dirty little details it describes the neo-repukes to a t.

2. well, they are
good for her for pointing out this subtlety. You know when people point out the conspriracy theories regarding electoral fraud, I say, "It's so blatant! How can it be conspiratorial?"

6. psuedo-conservative also works
not quite as satisfying as fascist, though. since most americans have no clue what fascism even is beyond mussolini & making trains run on time, its usually lost on them. or they think liberals are fascists because of the way we "ENFORCE" political correctness.

i also enjoy "bircher fuck", as in the john birch society. those beliefs are alive & well in modern conservatism.

8. Is it time for a re-posting of the 14 points of fascism?
I guess so:

In "Fascism Anyone?," Dr. Lawrence Britt, a political scientist, identifies 14 characteristics common to fascist regimes. His comparisons of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto, and Pinochet yielded this list of 14 "identifying characteristics of fascism."

1. Powerful and continuing nationalism
2. Disdain for the recognition of human rights
3. Identification of enemies and scapegoats as a unifying cause
4. Supremacy of the military
5. Rampant sexism
6. Controlled mass media
7. Obsession with national security
8. Religion and government are intertwined
9. Corporate power is protected
10. Labor power is suppressed
11. Disdain for intellectuals and the arts
12. Obsession with crime and punishment
13. Rampant cronyism and corruption
14. Fraudulent elections
