It is shopping season. Can we keep the "Starve the beast" type lists alive
and kicking every day? I mean the blue businesses to support and red businesses to boycott.....
More important that having it seen on this forum, we need to have it front and center so it can be shared with as many people outside if DU as possible.

It doesn't have to be militant protest. Just get as many people to see the list as possible with a few pertinent facts and let them decide.
A lot of red voters, for example, would also support Sears if they know that Sears actually cares about our troops acts accordingly (as someone had posted a couple of weeks ago).

Anyways, one dollar a day, per Kerry voter, that is taken from a red business and given to a blue business adds up to a 55-million-dollar-a-day shift. You see, the voting need not stop on Nov 3rd. Vote with your money. They will listen in a hurry.

4. Small victory today:
I was tempted to buy a magazine at the store. I looked at them, flipped through them. I especially was tempted by the extra-thick holiday issue of Real Simple magazine. But then as I was flipping through it it occurred to me that the entire magazine is just one big ad, just makes me want to buy things.

Plus the magazine itself was almost four dollars, so I said screw that and put it back.

And I don't regret it. It was a good feeling. I just bought the food I needed and got out of there.

It's a small victory, but a victory nonetheless. I used to be a magazine fiend and now it's been over a month since I have purchased one.

5. You make a good point about voting with your money.
I thought about that when I was checking out the choosetheblue website the other day.

They may have been able to steal my vote, but they can't stop me from using my dollars in such a way that we help to starve the repuke donating businesses!!!!

I'm also not spending as much, period. If the economy is going to go to hell in a handbasket (and it's well on its way) then I might as well have some money in savings to see us through.

Let the bush voters spend themselves into oblivion.

8. Thanks. But the concept is hardly unique. I have seen many people
advocate it. Its just that I think, now more than ever, we can do much to remind more people of it. We can make a statement this season.
