Iraqi Casualties - Big Discrepancy, Big Lie?

DOD reports that since the beginning of the war, there have been 1238 fatalities and 5007 wounded who have not returned to duty within 72 hours in Iraq. There have been 148 fatalities and 270 wounded who have not returned to duty in 72 hours in Afghanistan. That totals 6,663.

As a few DU patriots have posted, Stars and Stripes reported that 20,802 soldiers have been treated at Landstuhl in Germany. Soldiers are treated at Landstuhl only if they have serious injuries, according to a friend whose son was treated there after he was seriously wounded by an IED.

There are over 14,000 soldiers who were treated at Landstuhl and not counted as wounded by DOD. So what gives? Is there a reasonable explanation for this? Do they treat psych injuries there? Were chemical weapons used by or against our soldiers? Or are there many more casualties than reported and DOD, Bush and the Neo-Con gang are just lying?
