Is it just me, or does it seem as though...
Bush, the GOP, and the multitudes of RW Activists care more about marriage than keeping our country safe?

Bush wanted to pass the Federal Marriage Amendment, and Rove said Bush will see the FMA passed. But, Bush basically said "Awwww, that's too bad" when the Items from the 9/11 Commission failed to pass, and Bush and the GOP have done nothing about the recommendations from the 9/11 Commission since then.

And who caused these things to fail? The GOP. That proves it, they are more concerned with their money, their ideology, their friends in the big corporations, and their so-called 'moral values' than they are with our Nation's Security.

1. Of course
if they cared about security, they would have done more about securing containers at ports, etc. Sometimes I think the only reason they mess with Homeland Security is so that they can hassle liberals at airports, etc.

2. It ain't just you, ck4829!
Given the eight-second attention span of most Murkins, that Gay-Marriage straw man was a powerful distractant. And there are so many more at Rover's disposal: prayer in schools, "under God," Welfare Queens, the right to keep and bear arms.

These are all very easy for the TV-watching public to grasp, they are some serious hot-button topics guaranteed to have polarizing results and consume inordinate amounts of water-cooler time.

I submit that even the real GOP (if those two words can be said to even exist side by side) has been hijacked by the sideshow that bu$h's handlers are running 24/7.

3. Slight correction
Bush and the GOP want the RW activists to stay hot over the gay marriage issue; but they themselves couldn't care less. Bush and the GOP are more interested in lining their pockets with taxpayer dollars than in keeping our country safe.

Just a slight correction, but an important one.

Now, please excuse me while I vomit as I reflect on what my country has become.

5. I think this is right
I mean if you look at the wishlist of big business and the wishlist of the christian conservatives, they've checked off a lot of items on the big business list and very few on the christian conservatives. The one big ticket item was appointing conservative activist judges that will fight against gay marriage and abortion and what not. Of course those same judges don't give a damn about American workers or consumers, so it's kind of a win win for the Bushies.

6. They Think That...
...most Americans will rise up in joy that they're being protected from gay marriage, Janet Jackson's boobs and Nicolette Sheridan's towel.

As they ALWAYS do, they have MASSIVELY over interpreted the results of their diebold induced "mandate". They believe that the problems that they ran from are no longer there because they choose to ignore them.

Even with an ass-kissing press, this will come back to bite them majorly!
