Mad Cow? What Mad Cow? Canada to Serve Bush Beef
OTTAWA (Reuters) - The United States has yet to reopen its borders to imports of live Canadian cattle but that won't keep Ottawa from serving beef to U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) at an official dinner this week.

Washington slammed the door in May 2003 after a single case of mad cow disease was found in Canada. This month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (news - web sites) proposed allowing the full resumption of imports but the decision has to be reviewed by the Bush administration's budget office before going into effect.

The president has a chance to make a personal assessment on Tuesday, when beef from the western province of Alberta will be on the menu.

3. Of course not. Everyone there, including bush, knows
that banning Canadian beef is just another fear tactic up his sleeve.

4. Many Canadian farmers are on the brinks of bankruptcy because
the civil servants and/or the busco policies. Why is it that the Canadian beef is dangerous for the Americans and perfectly safe for us? For the same reasons that our meds are dangerous? Give me a break!!

(served them to him at the Summit of the Americas banquet a while back)

If Bush were smart, he'd also place restrictions on our pastries, ice cream, etc.!
