The longer bush is in, the less likely it is that thoughtful people will want to have children, or more than one child anyway. This is good for the earth, bad for the U.S.

It would scare the wits out of me to have a child, knowing that such a debt is already tied to my kid's ankle like a ball and chain.

Now that Nostamj is back, I'll suspend my version of TOONs (which was only launched to carry the flag while he was on hiatus anyway).

I do have a question for some of the other posters: when some say they "missed the toons", did you just miss nostamj's selection-sense, or did you actually not see the 4-5 editions of TOONs posted in November by myself and at least one other person? I tried to keep them kicked, but one can only do it so much.

I'd be interested to know in case nostamj takes another extended break anytime in the future.

Glad to see the toons back. A lot of good stuff here... I liked Slowpoke's toon, the horse head in the bed, Kirk's toon about civilian casualties, and Wasserman's.

The Fallujah cockroach toon bothered me, though-- I don't like seeing representations of Iraqis as bugs or otherwise non-human. That is an old racist standard-- describing the enemy population as vermin, animals, less than human. I know the bugs are supposed to represent "terrorists" but a) they are not labeled as such and b) it's still pretty sick. Otherwise the rest of the toons are great. Thanks again for putting these together.
