Anybody watching the CNN Presents show on evangelism?
Well, some things that stood out to me. Other than a few black faces in the prison population of Jeb Bushes faith based prison, I have never seen so many pasty white faces in my life, even the Argentinian preacher was pasty white.

And why are Floridians allowing their tax money to go for this? From what I could see in that jail, there was only one religious philosophy presented to the exclusion of all others.

Also, did you see the voter's registration table in the N. C. church? If this isn't a flagrant violation of the separation of Church and State I don't know what is. I mean you can't even do that in a voting precinct.

Also, it seems that they are having rock concerts for Christians while they poison their minds with Pro-life and anti-gay rhetoric.

So, it seems we have to discredit these people and expose them for what they are. I don't care if they want to follow some looney tune preacher into the rapture. That's their freedom of choice, but damn it when they start coming into the bedrooms of Americans and the wombs of women, they need to be stopped.

4. That's 'anti-choice', not 'pro-life'.
Pro-life is their term, framing the debate their way. Never use it.

11. I'm a Christian, but...
You can't stomp on ppl's rights in the name of your own personal morality.

A bumper sticker on my car that I made myself says: "How can you be pro-life and pro-war?"

I piss quite a few ppl off where I live in Ohio... hee hee hee

13. Welcome to DU.
That's a point we bring up here regularly. How can you claim to be pro-life if you don't care that children are being killed and maimed daily because of our invasion of Iraq.

15. Thank you, and...
I actually posted once on Free Republic. I made the mistake of identifying myself as a liberal. After being totally bashed and judged (I did get to respond a few times)...I got banned. Oh well. Glad I can come here where I can discuss intelligently with like minds! :)

19. The answer is simple. They don't care about life.
What they care about is C-O-N-T-R-O-L. Control of women. Women's right to choose whether to continue a pregnancy or not.

Women should not have that choice. It's seen as a huge slap in men's faces that a woman could make that kind of a decision. Not for them.

They definitely care about all fetuses being born (control). They are big believers in the prison system (control). They believe in the death penalty (control). They don't seem to mind us being in Iraq in a "holy war" (control).

It's all about control from the cradle to the grave.

10. Welcome to DU.
Yes, they are at the least deluded and at the most evil. Look how they are indoctrinating their kids that you can't go to heaven unless you believe in their Jesus.

How come their Jesus is so blond and blue-eyed?

Didn't some Ayatollah call Americans that once? I guess he was right. Somebody's gotta clue these guys in that the god they are worshipping is Satan.

7. yeah i am watching it pretty interesting.
The religious right is in for a very rude awaking when all the promises Bush has hinted at for the last four years and the next do not happen.

The GOP is only concerned about money and power thats it the rest doe snot even come across the radar screen.

Does this nation truly realize what the coming year in congress will be like?

12. I just finished watching it
Its a scary thought that churches could be divided into red and blue congregations. This is an issue that will not go away soon.

16. this started at least as early as late 70s early 80s with Moral Majority
Also in 1960, Republicans in places like OK and TX (heavily so bapt etc) would talk about how they could 'feel the presence of God at the Republican convention'. (That was the Sunday School message to my OK so bapt college-age department one Sunday after the republcan convention.)

The reason wasn't given, but it was obvious to all us good so bapt students.......the Democratic party had (gasp, horrors) nominated a ROMAN CATHOLIC....and we all 'knew' they weren't really Christian.

So , obviously, God was Republican.

20. Brain washed
My questions are: How does a 3-5 yr old understand what being a Christian entails? How can a child make a decision about being saved? It will be interesting to see what happens when she and her brother get out into the real world. Reality will feel like a punch in the face to them.
