5. That's from a Pew poll
BTW, Bill Clinton didn't announce until October 1992, 13 months before the election and nobody ever heard of him. This will change.

7. We have to remember that we are in the minority...
People who are as politically interested as those who read, and especially post, on DU, are in the vast majority. We are still about 6 months away from the first primary and 16 months or so from the general election? None of the candidates have started airing campaign commercials outside of the early primary states...

Nothing to worry about...Just worthless news that MSNBC et al. can use to fill empty space.

15. hope is what one must have and you are obviously a loser
Well Bush had to steal to win the last election. He is not the teflon don you asses think he is. Tell us how is conservatism better than liberalism. You prefer spending money on killing people or do you prefer it on helping people.

18. OK...
I guess I'll give you credit for spelling "loser" right. But, "democrat" is a noun, and pretty much applies to everyone that believes in our current system. "Democrat," is also a noun referring to someone who is a member of a certain political party. "Democratic," is an adjective which would have been appropriate given the context.

Take your brain off Limbaugh's teat, educate yourself, and try again.

you're not obviously bright enough to get it.

Keep voting against your best interests.....

9. everybody knows who AL Gore is
He got more votes than bush in 2000.

With Al Gore as candidate,
all we need is an honest vote count and we win!

What part of:
With Al Gore as candidate,
all we need is an honest vote count and we win!
is too difficult to understand?

Gore/whomever can beat Bush the pathalogical liar
all we need is an honest vote count.

Even the rightwing biased media couldn't stop ?Gore from getting more votes.
(they couldn't prevent Gore getting more votes is 2000/ before we all knew Bush was lying about almost everything)

IMHO it's gore for victory!
and anyone else for re-electing Bush.

10. To all: For what it's worth, I just went up to the corner store for some
eggs, there were 9 people in there. I asked every one of them "can you answer a quick question...are you a Democrat or Republican and in either case can you name anyone running for the Democratic nomination?"

There were 6 Dems and 3 Repugs. ONE Dem knew the answer, sort of...he said "Al Gore". And ONE Repug named Lieberman. Nobody else knew dogshit.

:grr:

11. Pew Poll in April said 68% couldn't name a single Dem candidate
"32% of Americans could name a single Democrat running for president, according to a Pew Research Center for the People and the Press poll taken April 10-16."

http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/columnist/raasch/2003-05-08-0423-raasch_x.htm

And people trot out these meaningless Lieberman is leading the polls for presidential candidate results. It's name recognition at this point.

But I'd hope in 3 months we'd see the number who can't name a single candidate go down somewhat.

12. Actually if true it's good news ~ I can't believe it's true though
If once the campaign actually gets going people will pay attention and Bush*'s numbers will have to decline. A Democrat is not a Democrat if they vote Republican. They say they are Democrats and just aren't paying attention. Pretty soon they will see and hear Deans name ten times a day.

16. Most people are not interested yet..
about 25% of the party is partisan, the rest probably don't really care WHICH Dem runs..

And they are not even really advertising yet..

Everything exists only in TVLand for most people.. When they start seeing it on tv, they will start paying more attention:(

17. guys everyone all right?
what the fuck was that guy's problem. Too bad we'll win. I'd love that bastard to say that democrats are flawed to that old Sergeant I mention in the Charlie Daniels thread. He's not your typical pacifist liberal than again most of us are combative and some of us vets that old sergeant my granddaddy would give that punk a lesson in what the world is like.

20. Oh come on.
I believe that like I believe Bush *earned* his C's at Yale. My cat knows Leiberman's running (and she's not votin for him either!). So let me get this straight.... 66% of Democrats didn't even get Joe... even as a lucky guess.

Strains credibility.
