They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now" MSNBC's Imus in the Morning offered derisive, racist commentary about Palestinians during the November 12 funeral of deceased Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat. Regular Imus guest and sports anchor Sid Rosenberg referred to Palestinians as "stinking animals" and suggested: "They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now." On November 19, the program broadcast a radio segment featuring a guest -- parodying General George S. Patton, Jr. -- who said that the recent report of a U.S. Marine shooting an unarmed, injured Iraqi insurgent provided the enemy "with another cozy 'al Jazeera moment' for the Muslim masses to respond to with their routine pack-of-rabid-sheep mentality." The guest also referred to a deceased Iraqi insurgent as "a booby-trapped raghead cadaver."
From the November 12 edition of MSNBC's Imus in the Morning:
DON IMUS, host: They're eating dirt and that fat pig wife of his is living in Paris.
ROSENBERG: They're all brainwashed, though. That's what it is. And they're stupid to begin with, but they're brainwashed now. Stinking animals. They ought to drop the bomb right there, kill 'em all right now.Contact Information: imus@msnbc.com viewerservices@msnbc.com MSNBC TV One MSNBC Plaza Secaucus, N.J. 07094 My e-mail: To Whom It May Concern:
I am sickened & appalled at the hate-filled racist tirades & death threats that you allowed to be broadcast on your radio station on the 12th & again today. How could you allow these bigoted fanatics air time for these vile attacks? Do you have no sense of decency? What if they had verbally attacked & denigrated African Americans instead of Arabs? What if they had suggested killing all the Jews or all the Catholics instead of killing all the Muslims? Would that have been ok with you, too? If you had any civility at all, they would have been fired on the spot. At the very least, you owe the public an immediate apology and a promise that this will never happen again.
PS: I will be posting this around the internet to notify other decent people of this revolting display of bigotry, hate & incredibly bad judgment."
