2. I'm back to listening to Leonard Lopate
on WNYC. There's a fellow talking about Guantanamo at the moment.

I've given up on Al. Too DLC. And while we're at it, though I love the information she provides, and frequent her website, I'm getting really tired of Randi trashing the other AAR shows and proclaiming that she and she alone is taking care of business or was the first to come up with an idea, etc., especially when it is clearly not the case. I don't know how many times I've heard her take credit for stuff that we've been working on for months here at DU. It is really a shame because she does offer some good information.

FWIW, my favorite show of all on AAR is the Laura Flanders show.

3. What the hell happened to country music anyway?
When I was a little kid, my parents used to listen to country music. Older stuff. It was really... eh... folksy, I guess? Not bad.

Now it seems like country music and hate radio go hand in hand. It's all about flag-waving, arrogant, self-proclaimed "real Americans". That or shameless commercialism. Often both.

Something weird happened to country music.
