Kerry speaks!!!
http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/11/17/kerry.ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. John Kerry, who has $45 million left from his record-breaking Democratic campaign, hinted on Tuesday that he may try again for the presidency.

On his first workday back in the Senate since losing his White House bid, Kerry remained far from the spotlight, granting interviews to hometown reporters and joining the depleted corps of Democrats as they elected the party's new Senate leaders.

In his first extensive interview since his November 2 defeat, Kerry was asked by the Fox News affiliate in Boston about running again in 2008 and reminded the questioner that Ohio is still counting votes from 2004.

He then said, "It is so premature to be thinking about something that far down the road. What I've said is I'm not opening any doors, I'm not shutting any doors." Kerry added, "If there's a next time, we'll do a better job. We'll see."

Reflecting on his loss, Kerry said he was not sitting around thinking about it. "You've got to go on," he said. "Do I find it some mark of failure or distress, the answer is no."

all he had to say (SHOCK)

John Kerry Speaks Out
(11/16/04 9:13 p.m.) Two weeks ago, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry conceded defeat in the presidential race against George W. Bush. On Tuesday, Kerry talked about his campaign with NECN political reporter Alison King -- and his future in Washington, D.C.

7. Keeping options open
I'm glad Kerry made some reference to this.

We know that Kerry wants to be President badly. He's too smart a politician to blow his credibility on what the conservative media will label as tin foil hat theories, but I'm sure he's watching the situation closely. His involvement isn't needed for the recount to occur. What is needed is legal oversight to try to get a fair recount, and Kerry is keeping his lawyers on the scene.

If it should actually look like the numbers are there, then I'm sure Kerry will speak out about being shocked about how he was deceived by the electoral fraud into conceding despite winning and will put on a fight. If the votes aren't there to win, he'll just keep quiet and nobody can call him a sore loser.

4. even though I wouldn't probably support Kerry for the nomination
in '08, I wouldn't fault him if he tried again. After all, 48% and app. 57 million votes is a solid showing. Afterall I wanted Gore to try again.

8. Sorry John, you are not getting my vote unless you contest this election/
uhh erm.. fool me once..sh.shame on you... fool me ya can't get fooled again. Let them all move on to 2008. I will not accept the outcome of the past election, nor will I accept Kerry's concession because it was WEIRD, to say the least. I've got your back?? C'mon John be the hero you can be & the hero you were. I have very mixed feelings about your integrity. You asked for my confidence with such earnest that I fell for it. Now you ask me to move on from one of the shadiest & corrupt elections of my lifetime? without a fight? huh? Sorry, but I think you are abandoning at least 1/2 of the people who voted for you, by just sticking to the status quo.

17. Watch the video - read the transcript

Kerry: I haven’t ruled anything out, I haven’t ruled anything in. Look, they haven’t finished counting the votes yet – we’d be talking about the race 4 years from now and it’s WAY to premature. But I’m not gonna rule anything out cuz I’ve said previously. What I’m here to do is fight for the things that I fought for in the course of this campaign.

9. He's going to have the same lack of
credibility as did Gore after 2000. I certainly won't vote for him again. I'm still bothered by the way the Kerry campaign had volunteers cross from Kansas to Missouri to help the Kerry campaign in that supposedly swing state, like the more populous and more Democratic Missouri couldn't do their own GOTV work?

If Kerry really wants to be president, why the hell isn't he fighting for it now? Why did he concede without insisting all the votes be counted?

Maybe that money could be better spent trying to get a few more Democrats in the House and Senate.

11. i think he would like for it to have a change in his favor
but he is remaining realistic and not trying to get his hopes up.

but no question, if the numbers are more favorable to him once they are all counted he will do something about it.

16. Kerry kept using the word "fight."

That's exactly what I want to hear from him. That's what we need in the senate, if he does only stay in the senate.

But I don't believe this man has given up. He has a great leader mentality in that interview - positive, forward minded.

I think he's responding correctly by not whining about the recounts - the press will totally attack him for it and he knows it.

He has to wait longer for the counts to come in, and the curruption to be exposed. I totally believe this man will step up to the plate when/if it is proven he lost the election by fraud. Remember, right now they're calling it fraud, but not saying he would have won. And yeah, we all know he most likely got the majority and won.
