i want to tell you guys something

i was just gonna say it another already existing thread, but i thought i'd point it out separately - i love this board! i have been posting and reading quite a few boards the past week or so - the georgewbush.org forums, RandiRhodes forums - yahoo groups, etc - and they are all so damn negative - like everything is gloom and doom, there is no chance in hell any of this fruad is gonna do anything, Kerry's a pussy, etc etc - basically that we are doomed to eternal hell and there is not an ounce of hope. they just plain old give up. not every single one of them, but that is the prevalent tone on those boards (Randi Rhodes is a little more positive).

but i have to say, THIS BOARD IS FILED WITH HOPE AND HIGH SPIRITS AND I LOVE IT, a lot of the things you guys say make me choke up! as long as i don't see that doom and gloom atttitude over here, i think i've really found a home.

the only problem is, these threads move to damn fast!

I was thinking the other day that this community
will probably be written about by future historians.
It is really a type of social phenomenon when you think about it.
I have made some wonderful friends here.

This is a great place with lots of good people. Just be careful in the lounge, it can make your head spin sometimes.

I go by the philosophy that you can't beat them at their own game. We have to fight the spin and negative politics with truth and ideas. I was one of those people that was turned off by the negative politics. I'm pretty sure that was an intended result of smear politics. We all get frustrated and angry but if we let it guide our actions, it will just be turned against us. So be strong, be positive, and enjoy the company here at DU!

IMHO, this place has been very negative lately perhaps because we have many, many pissed off new DUers. Considering 11-3, I guess this is to be expected.
